Nosotros nos confiamos a ti, Salud de los enfermos, que bajo la cruz estuviste aso-ciada al dolor de Jesús, manteniendo fir-me tu fe. Tú, Salvación del pueblo romano, sabes de qué tenemos necesidad y estamos se-guros que proveerás, para que, como en Caná de Galilea, pueda volver la alegría y la fiesta después de este momento de prueba. La Trinidad es el término empleado para significar la doctrina central de la religión Cristiana: la verdad que en la unidad del Al-tísimo, hay Tres Personas, el Padre, el Hijo, y el Espíritu Santo, estas Tres Personas siendo verdaderamente distintas una de la otra.

To Return to “Normality” is to Condemn Oneself By L. Boff
What type of Earth do we want for the future? There will surely be a great discussion of ideas about what future we want and what type of Earth we want to inhabit. What will be the most suitable configuration for the current phase of the Earth and of humanity itself, the phase of planarization and the increasingly clear perception that we have no other common home to inhabit than this one? And that we have a common destiny, happy or tragic. To make her happy, we must take care of her so that we can all fit inside, including nature. There is a real risk of polarization of binary models: on the one hand, the movements of integration, of general cooperation and, on the other, and the reaffirmation of national sovereignties with their protectionism. On the one hand, “natural” and green capitalism and on the other hand, third-generation reinvented communism as predicted by Alain Badiou and Slavoy Zizek. Others fear a process of radical brutalization by the “owners of economic and military power” to se-cure their privileges and capital. It would be despotism in a different way because it would be based on cybernetic means and artificial intelligence with its complex algorithms, a surveillance system for all the people on the planet. Social life and freedoms would be permanently threatened. But every power will always have a counter power. There would be great confrontations and conflicts due to the exclusion and misery of millions of people who, despite the vigilance, will not settle for the crumbs that fall from the tables of the rich Epulons. Many propose a glocalization that is to say that the accent be placed locally, in the region with its geological, physical, ecological and cultural specificity but open globally, that involves everyone. In this bioregionalism, true sustainable development could be achieved, taking advantage of local goods and services. Practically everything will be carried out in the region, with smaller companies, with an agro-ecological production, without the need for long transports that consume energy and pollute. Culture, arts and traditions will be revived as an important part of social life. Governance will be participatory, reducing inequalities and making less poverty, always possible, in complex so-cieties. It is the thesis that cosmologist Mark Hathaway and I defend in our joint book The Tao of Liberation (2010) that was well received in the scientific environment and among ecologists to the point that Fritjof Capra offered to do an interesting preface. Others see the possibility of a planetary eco-socialism, capable of achieving what capitalism, due to its competitive and exclusive essence, is incapable of doing: a world social contract, egalitarian and inclusive, respectful of nature in which the we (the community and society) and not the self (individualism) will be the structuring axis of societies and the world community. The planetary eco-socialism found by the Franco-Brazilian Michael Löwy, in his most brilliant formulator (O que é ecossocialismo?, available in the network). We will have, as reaffirmed the Earth Charter as well as Pope Francis’ encyclical “on the care of the Common Home”, a truly sustainable way of life and not just sustainable “development”. In the end, we will move from an industrial / consumer society to a sustainable society for all life with a sober and supportive consumption; from a culture of accumulation of material goods to a hu-manistic-spiritual culture in which intangible assets such as solidarity, social justice, cooperation, affective ties and not ultimately love and logique du coeur (logic of love) will be at its foundations. We do not know which trend will predominate. The human being is complex and indecipherable, it moves by benevolence but also by brutality. It is complete but still not totally (finished). It will learn, through mistakes and successes, that the best configuration for human coexistence with all other beings on Mother Earth must be guided by the logic of the universe itself: it is structured, as notable cosmologists and quantum physicists tell us, according to complex networks of inter-retro-relations. Everything is relationship. There is nothing outside of the relationship. They all help each other to continue existing and to co-evolve. The human being himself is a rhizome (root bulb) of re-lationships in all directions. Times of crisis like ours, of passing from one type of world to another, are also times of great dreams and utopias. They are what move us towards the future, incorporating the past but leaving our own mark on the ground of life. It is easy to step on the footprint left by others, but it does not lead us to any hopeful path. We must make our own footprint, marked by the inexhaustible hope of life’s victo-ry, because the path is made by walking and dreaming. So, let’s walk.

¿Qué tipo de Tierra queremos para el futuro? Seguramente habrá una gran discusión de ideas sobre qué futuro queremos y qué tipo de Tierra quere-mos habitar. Cuál será la configuración más adecuada a la fase actual de la Tierra y de la propia humani-dad, la fase de planetización y de la percepción cada vez más clara de que no tenemos otra casa común para habitar que ésta. Y que tenemos un destino común, feliz o trágico. Para que sea feliz, debemos cui-darla para que todos podamos caber dentro, incluida la naturaleza. Existe el riesgo real de polarización de modelos binarios: por un lado los movimientos de integración, de cooperación general y, por otro, la reafirmación de las soberanías nacionales con su proteccionismo. Por un lado el capitalismo “natural” y verde y por otro lado el comunismo reinventado de tercera generación como pronostican Alain Badiou y Slavoy Zizek. Otros temen un proceso de brutalización radical por parte de los “dueños del poder económico y militar” para asegurar sus privilegios y sus capitales. Sería un despotismo de forma diferente porque se basaría en los medios cibernéticos y en la inteligencia artificial con sus complejos algoritmos, un sistema de vigi-lancia sobre todas las personas del planeta. La vida social y las libertades estarían permanentemente amenazadas. Pero a todo poder le surgirá siempre un contrapoder. Habría grandes enfrentamientos y conflictos a causa de la exclusión y la miseria de millones de personas que, a pesar de la vigilancia, no se conformarán con las migajas que caen de las mesas de los ricos epulones. No pocos proponen una glocalización, es decir que el acento se ponga en lo local, en la región con su es-pecificidad geológica, física, ecológica y cultural pero abierta a lo global que involucra a todos. En este biorregionalismo se podría lograr un verdadero desarrollo sostenible, aprovechando los bienes y servi-cios locales. Prácticamente todo se realizará en la región, con empresas más pequeñas, con una produc-ción agroecológica, sin necesidad de largos transportes que consumen energía y contaminan. La cultura, las artes y las tradiciones serán revividas como una parte importante de la vida social. La gobernanza será participativa, reduciendo las desigualdades y haciendo que la pobreza sea menor, siempre posible, en las sociedades complejas. Es la tesis que el cosmólogo Mark Hathaway y yo defendemos en nuestro libro común El Tao de la Liberación (2010) que fue bien acogida en el ambiente científico y entre los eco-logistas hasta el punto de que Fritjof Capra se ofreció a hacer un interesante prefacio. Otros ven la posibilidad de un ecosocialismo planetario, capaz de lograr lo que el capitalismo, por su esencia competitiva y excluyente, es incapaz de hacer: un contrato social mundial, igualitario e inclusivo, respetuoso de la naturaleza en el que el nosotros (lo comunitario y societario) y no el yo (individualismo) será el eje estructurador de las sociedades y de la comunidad mundial. Tendremos, como reafirma la Carta de la Tierra así como la encíclica del Papa Francisco “sobre el cuidado de la Casa Común”, un mo-do de vida verdaderamente sostenible y no sólo un desarrollo sostenible. Al final, pasaremos de una sociedad industrial/consumista a una sociedad de sustentación de toda la vi-da con un consumo sobrio y solidario; de una cultura de acumulación de bienes materiales a una cultura humanístico-espiritual en la que los bienes intangibles como la solidaridad, la justicia social, la coopera-ción, los lazos afectivos y no en última instancia la amorosidad y la logique du coeur (la lógica del cora-zón), estarán en sus cimientos. No sabemos qué tendencia predominará. El ser humano es complejo e indescifrable, se mueve por la be-nevolencia pero también por la brutalidad. Está completo pero aún no está totalmente (terminado). Aprenderá, a través de errores y aciertos, que la mejor configuración para la coexistencia humana con todos los demás seres de la Madre Tierra debe estar guiada por la lógica del propio universo: este está estructurado, como nos dicen notables cosmólogos y físicos cuánticos, según complejas redes de inter-retro-relaciones. Todo es relación. No existe nada fuera de la relación. Todos se ayudan mutuamente pa-ra seguir existiendo y poder co-evolucionar. El propio ser humano es un rizoma (bulbo de raíces) de rela-ciones en todas las direcciones. Si se me permite decirlo en términos teológicos: es la imagen y semejanza de la Divinidad que surge co-mo la relación íntima de tres Infinitos, cada uno singular (las singularidades no se suman), Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, que existen eternamente el uno para el otro, con el otro, en el otro y a través del otro, constituyendo un Dios-comunión de amor, de bondad y de belleza infinita. Tiempos de crisis como el nuestro, de paso de un tipo de mundo a otro, son también tiempos de grandes sueños y utopías. Ellas son las que nos mueven hacia el futuro, incorporando el pasado pero dejando nuestra propia huella en el suelo de la vida. Es fácil pisar la huella dejada por otros, pero ella no nos lleva a ningún camino esperanzador. Debemos hacer nuestra propia huella, marcada por la inagotable espe-ranza de la victoria de la vida, porque el camino se hace caminando y soñando. Así pues, caminemos.
