Gett ing Star ted is EasyThe first two steps are critical to get you enrolled for fall courses.

Step 1: Apply for Admissions www.hfcc.edu/apply Apply for financial aid www.fafsa.ed.gov

Step 2: Request Admission Documents Have your high school or GED center send your official, final transcript to Henry Ford College after you have graduated.

There are three easy options to send documents.

Step 3: Attend Orientation Schedule at www.hfcc.edu/orientation.

Step 4: Participate in Course Placement (discussed at Orientation) www.hfcc.edu/courseplacement

Step 5: Meet with an academic advisor www.hfcc.edu/advising The Advisor will help you choose the corect courses to start with.

You must register for the following course for fall 2014: • POLS/SOC 100 Introduction to Community Leadership, two credits and

Unique Program ElementsThe Community Leadership Associate’s Degree is part of a unique partnership called the Community Learning Partnership. This is a partnership between Henry Ford College and community partners from the non-profit and public sectors in southeast Michigan dedicated to helping link your learning experiences to real-world opportunities for community change work. Students who pursue this degree receive mentoring and leadership opportunities with professionals in the community. Students will also gain practical, hands-on experience through internships and field experiences with local community organizations.

Program High l ights• Provides the education and tools needed to become an empowered leader in a democratic society.

• Students will be well positioned to positively impact their communities and promote their causes or programs through networking and coalition building with other stakeholders involved in community change.

• Students will learn the art of working toward creating measurable change in their areas of interest through sustained efforts.

• The CLP offers a direct pathway into the Community Change Studies minor at the University of Michigan - Dearborn.

• The Henry Ford course work could be a pathway to a Political Science Major, Sociology Minor, or a Social Science Major at Marygrove College.
