Aspen Flare Network
Design & Rating In collaboration with Aspentech
PURPOSE
Enables the attendees to develop flare network models for
convergent, divergent and looped systems.
CONTENT
Solve complete dynamic problems using Aspen HYSYS® software by first building a steady-state flowsheet and then performing steps to make the transition to dynamics
Learn pressure flow theory, column dynamics theory, and control theory
Interpret pressure flow specifications, strip charts, and controllers
Discover techniques and “rules of thumb” for controller tuning
See how different control strategies can handle different types of disturbances; learn how capacitance and dead-time affect controllability
Automate actions within a dynamics case by using the Event Scheduler
OBJECTIVES
Learn the fundamental flare network modelling techniques for pipeline design.
Learn the basics for rating a flare convergent, divergent and looped network for the constraint violations (Mach number, MABP, Noise, velocity, RhoV2) & for pressure, temperature and flow profile throughout the network.
Understand the solver messages to analyze the flow network problems and review options to take corrective measures.
Review results to perform process safety studies for pressure & temperature beyond allowable range and erosion problems (RhoV2) for healthiness of the flow network in the real plant.
Review flare network simulation computation convergence problems and examine solver solution methods.
Review how to use automation solution method for customizing reports using VB Macro in MS excel
Import sources from Aspen Plus / Aspen HYSYS®, Export and import data from the MS access and MS excel

Maersk Training Petcon
Maersk Training has been providing specialist learning to specific industries for
more than three decades.
The merger of the former Maersk Training Centre and Svitzer Safety Services in
2010 broadened the already impressive portfolio which companies in the
maritime, oil & gas, terminals and wind power industries in particular, have
benefited from since 1978.
As the first training establishment to be awarded a DNV Certificate of Excellence,
we now have branches in Newcastle and Aberdeen in Britain, Stavanger in
Norway, Nigeria and India as well as in Esbjerg and at the headquarters in
Svendborg, Denmark.
Further branches are planned to open over the next four years as part of the
group policy of taking training to precisely where it’s needed. Our new global
company therefore provides easy access to specialist training in terms of its
three core industries as well as a range of products which aim to increase the
core values of safety and efficiency. The opening of what has been described
as the world’s most advanced sea-industry based simulation centre, MOSAIC,
has further enhanced the company’s reputation for being innovative and
responsive to the growing needs of the industry.
All this is in order to provide, a better learning experience.
