A group of Marine parishioners are planning on putting together our Fifth annual celebration of the Marine Corps Birthday on the evening of Saturday, 10 November, 2018, at approximately 1800 HRS in the Pavilion.
We will have a birthday cake and the ceremonial cake cutting to celebrate our 243rd birthday. This is also an opportunity to meet other Marine parishioners, talk about our Marine experiences, and promote awareness of the Parish's Military Outreach Ministry.
We need a “head count” as soon as possible. If you are a Marine (Active, Reservist, Veteran or Retiree), or a Navy Corpsman who served with Marines, and attend Ascension Catholic Church, you are welcome to participate in this celebration. Please feel free to bring a guest with you.
If you are interested in attending this celebration, please call or email: Ray Lebron at 858.775.6734, [email protected] or Chuck Cox at 858.277.8646, [email protected].

Ascension Parish Ministries of Charity will have a Halloween Candy Collection. The Ministries of Charity (MOC) save the candy to make Christmas packages to distribute to the homeless and to the children at Mission San Antonio De Pala.
Please consider asking your children, family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and clubs if they would donate part of their wrapped Halloween candy to make Christmas for those in need a little more festive. Please put wrapped candy in bags marked “Candy Collection” and bring it to the food collection box in the vestibule of the church. Collection boxes will be available the first two weekends in November. The candies in this collection are used to make poppers during the
Ladies of Ascension’s meeting on Monday, November 12th, at 7pm in the Pavilion. Thank you!
