I pray...Read Joshua 1:6-9. God doesn’t tell us what to do so we can think about it; He only reveals His will when He knows we are predetermined to obey. So, for starters, spend a few moments praying for the courage to be obedient even though you don’t know what God will tell you to do.

Read Isaiah 55:8-9. God often wants us to stop doing things our way and to do things His way. As you pray, ask God to release you from the bonds of any thoughts that keeps you from fulfilling His plans for you and your Small Group. Pray specifically for a willingness to do things you’ve never done before.

Read Psalm 8:1-9. God inhabits the praise of His people. Read this Psalm silently and then read each verse as a prayer to God. Pause between verses and allow God to speak to you about things in your life. As you meet together, be prepared to share praises about God’s work in and through your life.

Read James 1:27. God gives His people instructions regarding caring for those who cannot care for themselves—specifically the orphans and widows. Over the next few months, you will hear more about some new opportunities to impact the lives of children and students in our community and around the world. You will be challenged to step outside your comfort zone and to get involved in an ongoing effort to change our world one life at a time. The opportunities God is placing before us are amazing! Ask God to begin preparing you and your group for the task to which He is calling our church.

Read 1 Corinthians 10:23-32. As believers, we have a God-given responsibility to live so that our lives do not misrepresent God or His grace. Think about your life and take note of any personal habits or activities that should be eliminated so that you do not cause others to stumble. As you pray, ask God to give you strength to overcome any temptations that interfere with your desire to live in total obedience to God.

Read Matthew 28:18-20. Jesus gave us our personal daily instructions through the Great Commission. What is your response to Jesus’ instructions? Will you join God in what He is doing or will you be satisfied to be a spectator? Consider God’s purpose for your life and ask Him to guide you toward things that matter to Him. Remember, God wants you to know His will worse than you want to know it.

I will...____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
