PRAYERS, THOUGHTS AND CARDS

JPSMP Gwen Salyers has had a recent stay in the hospital and she is now in a rehab center where she will be at least for a couple of weeks. She is very down and I'm sure some cards from her Eagle Sisters would help pick her up! She requests no phone calls, but text is ok. Please remember her in your prayers for a speedy and complete recovery. Cards can be sent to Gwen at: National Church Residency, 167 N. Stygler Road, Columbus, OH 43230.

PSO Melva Day had been back in the hospital. She is home now and doing much better. Please keep Melva in your prayers. Cards can be sent to: 2514 Cooper Street, Youngstown, OH, 44502.

Becky Woltz, Lancaster #2120, wife of Dave, SO, lost her mother, Barb Snyder, on March 11th. Barb has been in a nursing home for an extended illness. Cards can be sent to: 505 Westview Drive, Lancaster, OH, 43130

Cheryl Holmes, President, Huron #2875 had a heart attack and passed away. She will be missed by her many friends. Cards can be sent to Dave at: 166 Sinclair, Bellevue, OH, 44811.

PMP Mickey Whiddon, Akron #555. 1130 Swartz Road, Akron, OH 44306

Dolores "Dee" Perretti, Delta #2597. Daughter Sandy Miller's address: 415 Eberle Drive, Toledo, OH 43615. Sandy told me Dee loved the cards she received. She held on to them and looked at them all the time and smiled! They meant the world to her.

Please remember in your prayers all our Sisters and Brothers we have lost and their families.

I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone for making the 50/50 42 chance drawing for Sara’s Garden that was held on February 18th at Cadiz #2162 a HUGE SUCCESS! If you purchased a ticket, helped me by selling some tickets, or helped me the afternoon of the drawing, I could not have done this without all your help.

Lynn Norton, SE Zone, Charity Chairman

Hello Butterflies: Here we are winding down our 2016-2017 year for our charities. I want to thank our Queen Bee, Sue, for my appointment. I had a goal to beat last year’s goal, but am far from it at this time. Since I have not heard from any Auxiliaries, I have to go with results seen in the Buckeye Breeze. I hope you have considered your fund raisers for the year. I ask that you come out of your winter cocoons and spread those beautiful butterfly wings and donate to the Art Ehrmann Cancer Fund as one of your charities. As I stated before, it has come close to all of us in one way or another; family,

friend, co-workers, spouses, and yes, many of our Eagle Brothers and Sisters. We are closer today to finding cures for many of these cancers than we were 25 years ago when it took my mother, grandmother, and years ago 2 uncles, and 2 cousins and several others. In my family it has hit hard and I pray we can find a cure for all cancers so our grandchildren, great grandchildren, and future Eagle Brothers and Sisters won’t have to suffer with this dreadful disease. I have been working myself to raise funds and have been able to raise over a $1,000.00 with dinners, raffles at our District and Zone meetings, and even by making sock snowmen and golf ball lady bugs. Please drop me a note and let me know what you did so I can report it at State Convention. I want to wish all of you a blessed Easter and hope to see many of you all at State Convention in June. God Bless You All!!

Zora Griffith, Grand Aerie State Chairman, Art Ehrmann Cancer Fund, Diamond Auxiliary #3491, 8860 E. St. Rt. 571, New Carlisle, Ohio 45344 [email protected].
