Pilot scheme of placing 4play pods within primaryschools in Caerphilly. Thiswill include container,resources and training forschools staff.

5 b. Inclusive Play Project The number of disabledchildren we are able toprovide support for willincrease to 20. To achievethis, we have appointedadditional Inclusive Playworkers.

Play events for disabledchildren and their siblingswill be delivered throughoutthe Borough.

‘Everyone Can Play’,inclusive play training, willbe delivered by the InclusivePlay Officer.

6. Delivering communityeducation

Partnership work with thevoluntary sector to ensure awide curriculum is available toall age groups. This isenhanced by the CaerphillyFestival Planning Group whichincludes voluntaryorganisations. This groupactively plans learningactivities throughout the yearagainst assessed need withincommunities.

A range of partners from thevoluntary sector providereferrals to Genesis 2 andBridges into Work (ESFprojects) in order to secureadditional support andeducational and trainingopportunities for local people.

M) Volunteering To provide volunteeringopportunities targeted toincrease the involvement ofyoung people aged 16-25years

To work alongside the YoungDragons project, whose aim isto offer volunteeringopportunities andaccreditation to young peoplein Wales through theuniformed services.

To seek to providevolunteering opportunities forpeople referred viaorganisations such asJobcentre Plus, CareersWales, Want to Work andWorking links.

To organise a ‘VolunteerInformation Day’ in order topromote volunteering withinCaerphilly Borough.

To provide an outreachvolunteer service in JCPoffices and communityvenues across Gwent.

To encourage organisations tooffer volunteering opportunitiesaimed at 16-25 year olds &young people involved involunteering.

Youth Volunteering Advisorwill forge links with GwentYoung Dragons group to helpdevise, develop and recruitnew volunteering opportunitiesfor Volunteers aged 16-25.

To interview customers inorder to establish volunteeringinterest. Contactorganisations with view to aplacement. To providesupport and guidance.

The department has adedicated SupplierRelationship Officer, who isavailable to provideguidance and support to allorganisations in relation toprocurement processes,endeavouring to ensuremore local organisations(whether private sector orvoluntary sector) aresuccessful in securingcontracts with the Councilfollowing fair, clear andtransparent procurementprocesses.
