him and not just go through the motions.”

Peter Chirico, Board Chair Judy Sharpe, Executive Director

One Kids Place staff also had the opportunity to engage in knowledge exchange with provincial colleagues by sharing examples of evidence-based practices.

Fine Motor Facilitator ProjectPresented by Stephanie Nasturzio, Occupational Therapist; Jodi Fenton; Therapy Assistant; Lisa Ivany Physiotherapist and Program Manager.

One Kids Place and the District of Parry Sound Best Start Network collaborated to develop a fine motor curriculum for childcare providers and families. The presenters highlighted how this initiative enhanced community partnerships, built capacity within childcare facilities and Early Years Centres, and educated families around fine motor skill development.

iPads as Communication Tools: 10 Things to Know:Presented by Alicia Garcia, SLP: AAC Clinic; Pauline Laforest, Therapy Assistant: AAC clinic iPads are here to stay. They are taking over the Augmentative Communication field by storm. Best practices in how to choose, implement and follow up on the use of iPads as communication tools were presented in understandable terms for families, therapists, teachers and children service providers in general.

One Kids Place is proud to work with their Provincial Children’s Treatment Centre colleagues to build an inventory of best practices, evolve outcome measurement and evolve family centered practice.

Thank you to all of our families, staff, business and community partners for your profound commitment and overwhelming belief in our kids, their happiness and success. Our Cornerstone says it all …
