I love to read leadership books and discover success principles that originate from God’s Word. I think it’s amazing how the business world has tapped into one of these secrets—ex-pressing gratitude! A heart of gratitude is one of the greatest attributes of successful people. Ex-pressing appreciation for the blessings in your life only causes you to be more blessed! God is the One Who came up with this principle.

Behavioral and psychological research has shown how the practice of expressing gratitude results in these benefits:

· Makes people happier · Strengthens relationships · Reduces stress · Improves health · Combats anxiety and depression · Increases satisfaction with life · Provides confidence in personal growth, purpose in life and self acceptance · AND moves you closer to the fulfillment of your dreams

I would like to add: it causes God to move in your behalf! It is amazing how one simple ac-tion can change so much in your life. Gratitude is powerful.

When we set goals at Jerry Savelle Ministries, as soon as that goal is written on paper, we imme-diately begin to thank God for the fulfillment of it. Before it happens, you ask? Long before it happens!

God loves when we express gratitude for what He’s done in our lives. But I have discovered He really loves it when we vocalize our ap-preciation BEFORE He does anything. Seems backwards, but it is actually one of the highest expressions of your faith!

Each year, we set our goals and stretch our faith to go beyond the previous year. For example,

From usto you

our Chariots of Light motorcycle outreach leads people to Jesus through one-on-one evangelism in some of the rough-est biker rallies in the nation: Sturgis, Myrtle Beach, Daytona, Galveston, etc.

Last year, these motorcycle enthusiasts led 4,570 people to Je-sus one-by-one at these secular rallies. Thank You Jesus! This year, our Chariots of Light outreach set a goal for 5,000 souls to come to Christ. We wrote the vision, we prayed over it and we began thanking God immediately for bringing them in one-by-one.

Throughout this year, the COL bikers boldly and unashamed-ly headed out to these secular rallies fully expecting to see God move in the midst of so much ungodliness. As of today, the Chariots of Light members have personally led 6,391 souls to Jesus through one-on-one evangelism! (see page 14 for more details)

Whatever you are believing for, no matter how big or small, there is power in expressing your grati-tude, your praise and thanksgiving to God, BEFORE it ever appears. Praise is the shortest distance be-tween you and God. When it’s the last thing you want to do, that’s when you need to do it the most. Praise will open doors of oppor-tunity, favor, breakthrough and success like never before!

I want you to know that all of us at Jerry Savelle Minis-tries appreciate you. Thank you for believing in us and supporting our vision to teach people to discover God’s blessing, experi-ence His favor, and be-come the winner God has called them to be!

Many people group blessing and favor together. But they are different. They have unique roles in our lives and God’s plan for us.

The word blessing has been defined as an empowerment to prosper. “If the blessing is the empowerment to prosper, what’s favor for?” I asked the Lord this question a few months ago and His answer has had a massive impact on my life and ministry as a whole.

The psalmist wrote, “For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield” (Psalm 5:12). Notice there are two very powerful spiritual forces in that verse, the blessing and favor.

You must realize and believe that as Christians we have been blessed by God. Through the price Jesus paid, we have been made righteous. As we just read, God blesses the righteous.

All believers have the blessing on them according to

Psalm 3:8 which declares, “Your blessing is upon your people.” If we believe the Bible, then we must agree that the blessing is already on us. We won’t receive it when we get to heaven. It’s on every believer right now.

In Genesis 12:2, God said to Abraham, “I will bless thee,” and one chapter later it says, “Abraham was rich in cattle, rich in sheep, rich in gold and silver.” One chapter after God pronounced the blessing on him, he became a rich man.

Proverbs 10:22 reveals, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” The blessing of God brings prosperity to a person’s life. What is the purpose of prosperity? It’s not so you and I can live well and act like we’re better than other people. That’s not what prosperity and blessing are for.

My prosperity has a purpose. God doesn’t mind me living well. That’s part of it but not the primary

purpose.

The most important reason for being blessed and empowered to prosper is to be a blessing! It is so we can help further the kingdom of God, so we can help people in need, so we can help send missionaries around the world, so we can help build churches, so we can help the widow, the orphan, the poor, the destitute, and reach hurting people who are far from Christ. That’s what the blessing is all about!

The more we get involved in blessing others, the more prosperity we will experience—which enables us to reach more people and do more for the kingdom of God.

Everyone who has made Jesus the Lord of their life, every person without exception, is capable of prospering. I don’t care what their background is or the color of their skin, no matter what part of town they grew up in, no matter if no one else in their family has lived this way. If they declare that Jesus is their Lord, then they have the ability to prosper beyond what they’ve ever imagined.

The sad thing is, people live and die never realizing their potential. I believe there are a lot of Christians who, when they get to heaven, are going to have a curtain opened and see what they could have had while they were in the earth if they had tapped their potential.

The blessing was never intended by God just to be a greeting, “Bless you.” That’s all good and well, but if that’s as deep as your revelation goes regarding the blessing, then you’re going to miss out on a whole lot of good.

The psalmist says that in addition to being blessed, “With favor You will surround him as with a shield.” So if the blessing is an empowerment to prosper, what is God’s favor for?

This is what the Lord told me, “The blessing is an

empowerment to prosper but the favor is what produces the opportunities for it to happen.”

Think about this: An ability to do something isn’t very useful unless we have the opportunity to put it to work. There are extremely talented singers, better than some of the people on the radio, but we will never hear them because they have never had the opportunity to reveal their talent.

Having an empowerment to prosper isn’t going to do much good without an opportunity for it to happen! And without the opportunity, it’s not likely for it to benefit anybody. That is why we need to understand God’s favor and appropriate it in our lives.

It reminds me of Kelly Clarkson from American

Idol fame. She came from Burleson, Texas just a few minutes from where I live. She had all this great ability but just needed the right opportunity.

Every person has the blessing of God on their life. God is an equal opportunity employer. None of us are lacking in the ability to prosper, but what we need to start believing God for is favor that provides opportunities.

Start decreeing, “The blessing of God empowers me to prosper, and the favor of God provides me the opportunities to make it happen!”

If we’re surrounded by favor as the psalmist says, then we’re surrounded with opportunities to prosper. They come our way everyday. We either attract them or they pass us by.

Thomas Edison said the reason so many people miss opportunities is because the opportunities come dressed in work clothes. Some people pray for an opportunity and plan to just sit there until something happens.

Years ago, my son-in-law, Rodney, saw an ad in the

My prosperity is for a purpose. God doesn’t

paper for a video arcade machine that was broken. So he bought it, repaired it, and sold it for more money than he bought it for. He realized there was a demand for these old arcade games and began buying more and selling them. Eventually it became a business for him and he became the number one arcade game distributor in his region. And it all started with an opportunity!

What if he had said, “I don’t want to have to work on these machines. God just give it to me.” That’s why so many people don’t prosper, because when God’s sends the opportunity, it doesn’t come in the form they want.

People tend to want to blame their failure on everybody else, instead of taking responsibility for themselves. Isn’t it amazing how quick we are to take credit for our success, but our failures we blame on others? “That woman you gave me.” “That boss I’ve got.” “Well, I just don’t get the breaks like he does.”

Quit blaming everybody else and take responsibility for yourself. The quicker you do that, then the quicker you’re going to move into God’s best for your life.

I am surrounded with favor, and the favor on me produces the opportunities to prosper. I believe this is what God is saying to Abraham in Genesis 12:2, “I will bless you with an abundant increase of favors” (AMP). That’s favors, plural. That means we are not going to have just one opportunity to prosper in our lifetime and if we blow that, we’re done. That’s not what God is saying. It means

God is going to have opportunities coming our way throughout our lifetime.

Even though we may miss a few of them, that doesn’t mean it’s over and done. He’s a loving, merciful God and He’s going to keep opportunities coming our way.

IT’S TIME FOR US, AS GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE, TO NOT JUST HAVE AN EMPOWERMENT TO PROSPER, BUT TO SEE THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT GOD’S FAVOR PRODUCES AND SEIZE THEM.

It’s our responsibility to attract them, and not let them pass us by.

The blessing and favor are divinely linked together. When the blessing comes on a person’s life, so does the favor of God. You can position yourself for favorable opportunities to prosper.

One of the meanings of the word favor is advantage. If anyone ought to have the opportunities, it should be God’s people. For too long we have sat back with a lack of knowledge and let the world take many of the opportunities. God wants His people to take hold of the opportunities He’s putting in our paths.

In this series by Dr. Jerry Savelle, you will learn the life-changing truths regarding the blessing of God, how you are meant to experience the blessing daily, and how to earnestly expect God to enable you to never “go without.” God made you to experience the blessing, so don’t let the devil steal it from you any longer. Learn how to make Every Day A Blessing Day!

In this inspiring three-part teaching series, Terri shares practical advice on how you can live each day with purpose. You’ll discover how to see beyond where you are today and the simple steps you can take to turn “what if” into “what is”.

Your soul is made up of your mind, your will and your emotions. It is what you think, what you want and what you feel. A soul tie is an emotional connection or bond with another that unites you. Severing negative soul ties is not an easy task. But in this per-sonal and heart-felt message, Terri reveals how soul ties are formed and step-by-step how to be free once and for all.

No matter how you look at it, you’re blessed! Are you walking in the blessing of God? Are you standing on the promises of God to bless your household? Now, you can stomp all over doubt and unbelief every time you leave and return to your house as you make a daily confession out of Deuteronomy 28:6 “Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.”

Enjoy the convenience of reading the traditional King James and the “plain Eng-lish” Amplified translation on the same page. This Bible has a gold embossed JSMI logo on the cover and a special message from Jerry Savelle.

Do you ever feel as if you are struggling with the same stuff year after year? May-be it seems like you always get so far but never go beyond that point. You need an action plan.

As a little girl growing up, I loved going on a family vacation each summer. On the last day of our trip just before heading off

to the airport, I would stand on the pier overlooking the ocean and think, “I won-der what my life will be like next year at this time.” And of course, many changes would take place throughout that follow-ing year. Some years, it seemed nothing significant would really happen; other years, I would experience major events.

by Terri Savelle Foy

While I’m passionate about teaching peo-ple how to let go of their past and get their eyes on a vision ahead, I want you to take a moment to look back over the past year. Do you recognize areas that you’re still dealing with the same issues you were last year at this time? Has much changed over the past year? What about your weight? Are you still struggling with the same 10 pounds you were last year at this time? What about your savings account? Has it grown? Or has it not moved? Has your marriage changed over the year? Or are you still struggling with the very issues you were last year? What about your rela-tionship with the Lord? Has it grown or is it pretty much the same?

At one point in my life I recognized that I was battling the same challenges and same struggles year after year after year. Although changes had taken place in some areas of my life, I couldn’t figure out why certain issues stayed the same. I got out my journal one day and started flipping back to see what the Lord had said to me in my quiet times with Him, and even His words to me hadn’t changed! The wording was a little different but the instruction was the same. Then, I read this statement that ex-plained everything:

“God will not advance your instructions beyond your last act of disobedience.”

Wow! Could it be that I wasn’t doing something God told me to do and that’s why I was still circling the same moun-tain year after year after year? Or could it be that I was only doing part of what God told me to do? Look at the story of Jonah in the Bible. God clearly told him to go to the city of Nineveh, and Jonah went in the exact opposite direction (disobedience). What happened? He got swallowed up by a mess of problems! He had no vision, no hope; he was trapped by his circum-stances, miserable, depressed, you name

it. Then, once he finally cried out to God, the fish spit him out and God said, “Jonah, go to Nineveh!” In other words, God’s di-rection never changed. All that happened was Jonah wasted time and went through needless torment simply because he didn’t do what God said the first time. Or God did not advance his instructions beyond his last act of disobedience.

We all want to be in God’s perfect will. We ask Him to talk to us and lead us into His will for our lives, but many times, what He’s telling us to do and what we want to do aren’t in agreement. But in reality, deep down we know what God is say-ing. I believe we doubt our ability to hear from God because it just hurts too bad so we don’t take it seriously or we only do part of what God said to do. Remember, partial obedience is still disobedience! And disobedience keeps us locked in our situ-ation producing confusion, lack of peace, stagnation, misery, and on and on.

The reason I know so much about this is simply because I’ve cried out to God (like Jonah), and His instructions never changed. What God wanted me to do was not what I wanted to do, and it kept me trapped in my circumstances.

Did it hurt to obey? A giant YES! But the pain does go away. I used to tell myself constantly, “One day it won’t hurt.” I can tell you, first hand, the results of disobey-ing God never go away until you choose to obey. It’s a misery that eats away at your insides because you know what to do but you’re not doing it.

If you’re struggling in some area of your life with the same stuff year after year, you need to check if you’ve done (fully done) the last thing you know God told you to do. If you know you haven’t, then make a decision to press through the pain by do-ing these three things:

“IF YOU’RE STRUGGLING

IN SOME AREA OF YOUR LIFE

WITH THE SAME STUFF YEAR AFTER YEAR AND IT

SEEMS LIKE YOU ALWAYS

GET SO FAR AND THEN NEVER GO

BEYOND THAT, YOU NEED

TO CHECK IF YOU’VE DONE (FULLY DONE)

THE LAST THING YOU KNOW GOD

TOLD YOU TO DO.”

She currently resides in the Fort Worth, TX area with her husband Rodney and her daughter Kassidi. For more information and ministry resources, go to www.terri.com.

Get alone with God. Talk to Him about everything: the pain, the hurts, the fears, the way you feel. Get it all out in the open before God. He knows what you’re going through and how you feel anyway, so just talk to Him about it. Feel safe to have open dialogue with Him because He loves you. Admit your total dependency on Him to help you do whatever He asks of you.

Hear the Word. Order some new CDs from your favorite preachers and set a goal to consistently hear the Word at some time each day. If you need your desires changed, you have to change what you give attention to. Give more attention to the Word than to how you feel. Let the Word change you from the inside out.

Speak the Word. The most powerful weapon you have is your own mouth. Start confessing that you are “willing and obedient” to God’s instructions. Say, “Lord, conform my will to Your will.” And choose to obey. Like my Dad used to tell me when he was correcting me as a child, “Terri Lynn – obey quickly and quietly!”

In other words, don’t reason with God, don’t justify why you keep putting it off. Just do it. Remember, God always rewards obedience and next year at this time . . . you won’t be where you are today.

Vision 101 is a 12-month program designed to insti l l habits that wil l cause you to achieve success and fulf i l l your purpose. You will receive a CD teaching and a companion workbook each month on a different topic for one year. As you l isten and read, you will receive clear and simple direction to apply. You will see results!

CHARIOTSOF

LIGHT

When the Lord spoke to Jerry Savelle’s heart in 1998 to turn what was once his passion into a tool for evangelism, the Chariots of Light motorcycle outreach began. Today, Chariots of Light motorcycle club members meet together all over the United States and in other countries including Canada and Australia.

The motto for COL is “every member a soul winner” and it is more than a saying, it is a commitment. This commitment to invite others to follow Jesus is lived out at restaurants, gas sta-tions, biker rallies, and every where members go. So far this year Chariots of Light members have led 6,391 people to Jesus.

Thank you partners for your prayers as the Chariots of Light outreach continues to “shine as lights” in a dark world and maintains a passion for God, a passion for souls, and a passion for motorcycles!

Not long ago, for several days in a row, I was faced with a decision to become seriously stressed or to walk in peace. I chose to calm down and tap into the blessing

of peace that is mine because of what Jesus did at Calvary for me.

I want to share with you how I conquered stress and how you can experience peace even when things don’t go right.

My stressful situation involved a remodeling project at our church. I enjoy decorating and actually get very involved in the remodeling process. The painters needed a certain paint to work with so I drove to the home improvement store to purchase what was needed. When I return to the church, we discovered I was given the wrong type of paint. The store failed to give me what I asked for and wasted an hour of my time while I had waited for it to be mixed.

I returned to the store a second time, and again had to wait an hour. When I returned to the church, I was informed it was the right kind of paint but now the wrong color.

On my third trip I discovered the store employee had used a dark base and not a light base to mix the paint. Now after four hours, I arrived at the church with the correct paint.

I was exhausted and at that moment had a choice to make—whether to be stressed or to walk in peace. And really, every part of me in the natural wanted to be stressed. The temptation was there to just complain and talk about how miserable the day had been. But as Christians, we must analyze every thought and cast out each one that exalts itself above the Word of God and His best for our lives.

TOOBLESSEDTO BESTRESSEDby Carolyn Savelle

The apostle Paul wrote to us in Hebrews 4:12 saying, “For the word of God is alive and active...it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Paul is saying that the Bible must become the final authority in every area of our lives as well as the guide for what to cast down or to exalt in our lives. We are only mighty through God and through His Word that we know and act on, not through ourselves.

Carolyn has an incredible testimony of growing up her entire life under the power and anointing of Jesus. She was reared in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she heard preachers such as Oral Roberts and William Branham. Throughout her life she has witnessed God’s miraculous power. Carolyn has been a bold and powerful minister of the Word of God. Her teachings have blessed thousands and made a profound impact on the lives of people throughout the world.

If you want to succeed and walk in God’s peace, you are going to have to respond to stressful times the way the Word of God instructs us to.

The Book of James tells us that just like a small rudder steers a great ship, our tongues have the power to control our lives (James 3:2-5). James gives us another comparison we can understand. He says a 1000-pound horse is turned around by a bit in its mouth.

I want you to know, victory and peace come as a result of the proper use of your tongue.

When you have the opportunity to be stressed, what starts coming out of your mouth? “I’m sick. I don’t feel good. I’m coming down with this or that…”

That is not what the Word of God says! Scripture says that by Jesus’ stripes you are healed (Matthew 8:17, I Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:4-5).

When you’re financially challenged, are you constantly saying, “I’m broke, I don’t have anything, we will never get out of debt”?

Turn your ship (your life) around by using your rudder (your tongue)—steer it in the right direction.

Begin to speak over your life and situation what the Word of God says—The blessing of the Lord, makes me rich (Proverbs 10:22), God will supply all my needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19), I have honored the Lord with all my increase and my barns will be filled with plenty (Proverbs 3:9-10)!

Hearing someone preach will cause you to believe. But speaking it for yourself will cause you to receive!

Remember what we read in James 3? Your life is controlled by your tongue!

I want you to notice something, it’s not the winds of adversity that drive us in the direction we go, it’s the steering device called our tongue!

We are given wise advice in Proverbs 4:20-24: “Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.”

Corrupt talk is from a mouth that is uncontrolled,

unbridled by the Word of God—a disobedient mouth. It says what it wants to say.

If you want to conquer stress and walk in peace, don’t talk about what is not going right. Talk about things and situations the way you want them to go. I love the way the Amplified Bible states Proverbs 18:20: “A man’s self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied whether good or evil. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

Let me encourage you, no matter the adversity you face or how the storm is raging, you can turn your life around and go in the direction you want with the proper use of that rudder—your tongue.

I turned mine around when that stressful situation tried to take my peace and joy. But I refused to allow it to. I know too much of the Word. I’m not just a hearer only but I am a doer. And James 1:25 says that a doer of the Word will be blessed in all of their deeds!

Are you too stressed to be blessed? Or too blessed to be stressed?

“Paul is saying that the Bible must become the final authority in every area of our lives as well as the guide for what to cast down or to exalt in our lives. We are only mighty through God and through His Word that we know and act on, not through ourselves.”

PARTNER WITH USI would like to personally invite you to become a part-ner with this ministry. A partner in our ministry is one who shares the vision and goals of this ministry through prayer and sows faithfully and continuously, helping us achieve the vision and goals that God has given us. My mandate for over 40 years has been to teach people how to be winners in life. God wants you to win in every area of your life. And, with God’s Word, you can do just that. You can then have a greater influence on the people you associate with and work with.

The Apostle Paul said in Galatians that you are to com-municate with those who instruct you. That simply means that if this ministry has brought instruction into your life, if this ministry has helped you along the way in your spiritual growth, if it has blessed your life in some way, then Paul says to communicate with it. The word communicate here in the literal Greek is a little deeper than saying “I love your ministry.” It literally means “to give” and “to partner with.”

I would be honored to have you as my partner. One of the greatest compliments I ever receive is when some-one comes up and says, “Jerry, I’m your partner.” That is such a blessing to me. When you partner with me, it means you believe in the call of God on my life.

There is no way we can fulfill all that God has planned for us without partners. The vision God has given us is simply too big. It will take all of us together to accom-plish this God-honoring vision.

When you become a partner, I want to sow right back into your life. With your first partner gift, I will send you my partner packet which includes information on partnership and two of my most motivating messages. I believe that as you partner with us, you are going to experience the same grace and favor that is on this min-istry. I receive testimonies of it everyday.

I want to close by saying thank you to all of the partners and friends of JSMI. Because of you, we are able to ful-fill the call of God on our lives and reach the world for Jesus Christ!
