Analysis of U.S. Presidential Speeches (1941-2018) - Conducted research to uncover the differences in principles and priorities of the Democratic and Republican parties - Analyzed properties of the Presidents' speeches including average number of words per sentence, characters per word, percentage of difficult words, and the grade level at which they spoke - Developed conclusions comparing the speeches, during times of crises, through thematic and stylistic analyses Though further research must be done to isolate the factor of the Presidents' individual personalities, evidence shows that Democrats exhibit more empathy towards their constituents and Republicans are more objective and fact-driven
