TimeOut’s logo is situated in the right hand corner for brand awareness to get the reader familiar to the brands name and logo.

The date, website link and page number are all situated at the bottom corner of the page. (page number is a common convention to all magazines, the others are unique to TimeOut).

Quote from the person in the article, common convention to all articles and feature pages of magazines as it creates a person relationship between reader and person in the article, uses and grats.

Text organised in columns to make easy reading a makes the page look neat and organised and professional.

Anchor text – bigger then normal text but smaller than masthead draws reader to article gives an insight.

Masthead – title to the article, bold and san serif font easy to read and clear to stand out. Second smaller masthead to specify the actual content of the article. Main image – puts a face to the name in

the articles, creates a personal relationship between reader and the man in the article with the use of direct mode of address from the person in the image(uses and grats). Image takes up most of the page and the text works around it.

Text is sans serif font and follows the colour scheme of black and lights pink.

House style – follows the house style of san serif font and black pink and white colour scheme.

Masthead – title to the article, bold and san serif font easy to read and clear to stand out. Light pink follows colour scheme.

Main image – the people who are involved/own the business that article is about readers can now put a face to the name in the article creates personal relationship between reader and these people with direct mode of address.

Text on the image tells you who's in the image where it was taken and what is going on.

Conclusion:After researching into regional magazine features page, I found that the codes and conventions include:

Main Image – direct mode of address from models in the image, takes up most of the page in the centre and the text works around it.

Text organised in columns – easy reading/navigation, makes page look tidy and professional.

Page number – makes easy navigation for reader.

Quotes – creates person relation with reader and person in the article.(USES AND GRATS)

Masthead – bold, larger than all the other text usually in different colour to stand out (colour follows colour scheme).
