TAMI ANNUAL CONFERENCESTAC 2017
1ForewordThe tides of change in technology in the work space and demand
for a more sophisticated skill-set are moving at an unprecedented
speed and now, more than ever, consistent and continuous up-
scaling is of the essence. At TAMI we have built a tradition of
keeping our participants up to par with the current trends all
the while balancing with pre-existing organizational cultures.
This year, our prime focus will be to elevate, enhance and
empower the capacity of our delegates in the respective fields.
We intend to do this in a very avant-garde manner through a
50/50 engagement where all attendees are required to give us a
snippet of how it feels to be a member of their organization. This
will in turn provide us with feedback on how best to confront
various technical and situational barriers that may affect
performance. We are transitioning to a more organization to
organization approach as it is very apparent that the challenges
incurred vary and are dependent on a number of organizational
variables.
Furthermore, based on the high quality facilitators we have
on board there is no doubt the individual attention we give to
each and every one of our participants will prove beneficial and
supply a concrete back-home action plan.
Our annual conferences will also include cut across sessions
namely; slaying your giant, optimizing your performance
consistently and overcoming setbacks like a pro. This will not only
allow for individuals from different disciplines, organizations
and nationalities to network and share cross-cultural stories
but also to gain alternating perspectives.
We are looking forward to making this a rewarding and educative
experience.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR
EXECUTIVE SECRETARIES AND PERSONAL ASSISTANTSThe times of personal assistants or secretaries being simply adherents is long
gone and never to return. We have transitioned into a new age that places
the executive assistant in a position of influence; one that determines the
efficiency of day to day organisational operations.
Personal assistants are now relevant and essential key players in ensuring
the success of companies and organisations alike. They are now required to
execute important tasks such as the preparation of reports, event planning,
contributing towards decision-making board meetings and even offering
strategic suggestions that stand to grow the organisation. The need for the
modern personal/executive assistant to be initiating and bear the ability to
evoke action has ceased to be a bonus but rather imperative.
Often, superiors and bosses demand that their assistant have a profound
understanding of the overall organisational strategy as well as the acumen
necessary to significantly advance its objectives. The old adage “think on your
feet” in this respect is pivotal and an attribute and skill that can be harnessed.
Attendance of this one-week content and practical-intensive conference will
push assistants to levels where they can tap into their ultimate potential. A
careful scrutiny of a proactive assistant will be presented and a descriptive
step-by-step guide on how to achieve optimum productivity will be rendered.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR
PRIVATE /PERSONAL ASSISTANTSThe pace of work is constantly accelerating; Are You?
Today’s professional landscape is evolving faster than ever before in our
history-every day, every hour, every minute. Technological advances
combined with global economic forces have made the workplace more
complex, interconnected and chaotic than most people ever demand possible,
even just a few years ago. Today, we’re experiencing a brand new era of
efficiency, innovation and discovery.
What does this mean for the modern professional? Put simply; we have greater
demand on our time, energy and attention. So great, in fact the standard has
become almost super human. We’re expected to deliver faster than a speeding
bullet bound over obstacles in a single leap, and perform at unparalleled levels
of mastery.
Never before have we faced such immense opportunity and never before have
had we faced such a critical need to ACCELERATE.
It’s not just about working faster; it’s about advancing who we are and what we
are capable of. It’s about meeting super-human demands with super human
ability.
We must become the ACCELERATED ASSISTANT. But what does that mean
for those of us who possess real human limitation? We can’t magically stop
time in its track. The Accelerated Assistant doesn’t have to. Instead, she
possess a unique set of tools that allow her to amp up workplace performance
and thrive even when confronting unimaginable hurdles.
THEME:
The Accelerated
Assistant
TAMI ANNUAL CONFERENCESTAC 2017
5Areas of DiscussionTo seize this kind of professional power, assistants must accelerate their:
LEARNING CURVEIt’s not enough to merely acquire knowledge: you must aim continuous rapid personal improvement.
RESPONSIVENESS TO CHANGEGone are the days of gradual adaptation: you must embrace swift transformation.
TIME TO EXECUTEThe luxury of distant deadlines is dead: You must deliver exceptional quality quickly.
CAREER MANAGEMENT Drifting without direction is not an option: you must take personal responsibility for your future.
VALUE TO THE COMPANYMeeting expectations don’t cut it; you must aspire to even greater levels of contribution.
FOCUSDistraction lurks around every corner: you must hone mental agility and deep concentration.
INNOVATIONYou can’t wait for inspiration to strike: you must ceaselessly seek solutions.
Attempting to simply “coast by” in this dynamic environment ultimately means you’ll fall behind. You have to ACCELERATE to get ahead.
The race is on in today’s competitive workplace and you’re in the drivers’ seat. You can control the rate of ACCELERATION. The route you take is your choice.
Are you stalling out as others around you speed by? Are you sick of racing around and never reaching the finish line? Are you approaching curves in the road but not sure how to adjust? If so, rev your engines and get ready to ACCELERATE.
This 2017 conference will help you become the ACCELERATED ASSISTANT – a super charged professional who is result oriented.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGERS & PERSONNELToday’s human resource manager is no longer situated at a desk placed with
the task of simply recruiting and maintaining staff. As we witness the shift
towards a less centralised and integrated organisational setting whereby a
more interspersed operational system is becoming the order of the day and
a preferred operational style, so much more is expected from the human
resource management team across the public and private sector. To be
effective therefore, a well rooted background of all the workings and grand
organisational goals is required.
TAMI’s conference for human resource and training managers has taken this
new trend into consideration and treats it as the backbone of this tutelage.
Our prime objective is to keep these particular personnel abreast with the
changing trends of their specialty.
The first undertaking will be to re-introduce the concept of talent
management and how to best handle staff members by identifying their
strengths and weaknesses, correcting their shortcomings and enabling them
to make their best contribution to their organisation. This will be done by
visiting new training and testing methods as well as performance appraisal
techniques. Secondly, we shall shift the focus of our participants to the
development of their respective organisations and propose ways to foster
and secure a successful operational system. Lastly, a concentration will be
allocated to the career development process of assigned staff and newly
researched information on job definition and description will be dispersed.
This is to ensure that productivity is maximised and staff input is matched
with organisational output.

FINANCE AND PROCUREMENT PRACTITIONERS AND CONTRACT MANAGERS
THEME:Bridging The Gap Between
Procurement and Managing Contracts
For most public and private procurement processes, contract administration
and management is ceasing to be seen as an independent element but one
that is integral to the business of ensuring efficient and effective supply of
goods and services necessary for an organisation to meet its fundamental
objectives. Contract management is in fact a continuation of the procurement
process and is therefore vital that procurement practitioners are acquainted
and well-versed with the various techniques involved in awarding and
handling contracts.
TAMI ANNUAL CONFERENCESTAC 2017

financial and procurement considerations as well as the factors that
