INGREDIENTS

2 cups sella basmati rice

2 cups sugar (less or more)

cloves 3-4

green cardamoms 4-5

pistachios choped 1/4 cup

almonds chhopped 1/4 cup

edible food colors (red ,green,blue,yellow,orange)

ghee 1/2 cupfood color,

few chum chum

coconut 1/4 cup finely sliced

orange zest 2 tsp

raisins 1/4 cup

kewra water few drops

METHOD: bring water to boil in a large pan. add 2 cloves and 3 cardamoms in

boiling rice, when rice is almost done. strain rice in a colander.

heat ghee in a pan add cardamoms, cloves, crackle.

now spread a layer of rice, orange zest, spread sugar evenly over the rice in layers

(one layer of rice,another layer of sugar ) keep repeating the layers . cover and

cook on medium flame for 5 minutes. then put the pan on top of tava on flame.

lower heat after 5 minutes n cook till done.

now sprinkle all the food colors,kewra water over the rice, dry fruits and chum

chum. mix well ,serve hot. — with Saira Saghir, Sam Seemi and Misbah Sheraz.
