The use of insect repellent will add to your comfort. Learn to recognize and avoid poisonous plants such as poison ivy. In case of injury or illness contact a Campground Attendant or Par k Patrol Officer. They can assist you to reach medical help. Canoeists and hikers travelling in backcountry areas should advise a friend of their intended destination and anticipated length of trip. Backcountry camping is only allowed at designated campsites. Never crowded, everyone will enjoy scenic walks along the shore, and kids will keep busy with swimming and playgrounds. This beach ridge on the southwestern shore of Dauphin Lake is located in the Aspen/Oak Parklands Natural Region. In addition to the lake the water bodies of Crooked and Crawford Creeks flow within the park. The beach and picnic areas, playgorund, ball diamonds, horseshoe pits and hiking trails contribute to your outdoor experience, while the modern washrooms and showers provide added comfort. There are three group use areas perfect for that family reunion or youth activity. The nearby Dauphin Golf and Country Club offers a diversion for the avid golfer. And what can be better than a great game of baseball by the lake? This area is alive with activity throughout the summer, as Dauphin plays host to Countryfest every Canada Day long weekend and Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival in August.
