Paul Waller, PhD, RN, reported that asfinal follow-up to a contingency issuedwith the July 2009 initial approval of anew program, Education Consultants PaulWaller and Robin Caldwell visited therecently-completed Nursing Building at theRound Rock, Texas campus of TexasState University - San Marcos on June 28,2010. Board staff met with Director andProfessor Marla Erbin-Roeseman and DeanRuth Welborn, along with several facultymembers and toured the building,including classrooms, skills and simulationlabs, faculty office suites, and supportservices areas. The building is extremelywell-appointed and equipped. The program has admitted their firststudent cohort of 100 students, withapproximately 60% having completedprerequisites at educational institutionsother than Texas State University.Students range in age from 20-58, withan average age of 23. Many are second-degree students and come from diverseethnic and racial backgrounds. Theprogram anticipates a stable enrollmentwith approximately 100 graduates eachyear and is making plans for graduateeducation, including an ADN to MSN

Dr. Lehman specializes inindividual assessment and lecturesnationally on psychological assessment fordetermining fitness to perform jobfunctions.
