A short summary about the European flagby students of primary 4th from FEDAC-Prats (Spain)
• The flag was designed by Arsène Heitz and Paul Levy in 1955.
• In 1983 the European Parliament adopted the flag. In 1985 ,it was adopted by all EU leaders as the official emblem of the European Union.
•In various traditions, twelve is a symbolic number representing perfection. It is also of the 12 months in a year, the number of hours shown on a clock face, ...
The stars symbolize the ideals of unity , solidarity and harmony among of people of Europe. The circle is also a symbol of unity.
• There are twenty-seven members in the European Union.
• Spain joined on the 1 st January 1986.
• Cròacia will join in 2013.
