Ohio Land CompanyIn 1753 Ohio Land Company is formed. They are given 200,000 acres of land.

Company is formed by wealthy Virginians. Robert Dinwiddie and Lawrence Washington are just two.

George WashingtonDinwiddie sends Lawrence Washington’s brother, George, into the Ohio Country with a message to: GET OUT! The French reject.

Fort DuquesneApril 17, 1754: French sieze control of British fort at the

confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahila rivers.

Washington AttacksMay 28, 1754: Washington encounters a small French force.

Half King kills Jumonville after he has surrendered. Surviving French escape to warn of the British.

July 3, 1754700 French with Indians allies attack Washington. Outnumbered,

his forces surrender.
