Connecting mobility to passengers’ increasing expectations To make public transport even more attractive, Keolis treats customer satisfaction as a priority, on the basis of its core philosophy: “Thinking like a passenger.” Its aim is to shift from a model of mass transport to one that is fully customised.
In Tours, France, 93% of travellers said they were satisfied with the replacement bus service that was implemented following a major incident that occurred on the tram network in July 2015.
Fostering a strong relationship with Public Transport Authorities By establishing strong, long-lasting relationships with Public Transport Authorities based on listening, transparency and dialogue, Keolis is able to meet each community’s specific expectations. The purpose? To jointly develop tailored solutions that provide ever greater satisfaction to local communities.
When Keolis teamed up with the Public Transport Authority in Bergen, Norway, to build two tram network extensions, it successfully maintained a customer satisfaction rating of over 95%.
Putting safety first – everywhere and at all timesBecause it is a prerequisite in public transport, Keolis has made the safety of its passengers and employees its highest priority. In Group subsidiaries around the world, this is embodied by a highly demanding, yet empowering approach to continuous improvement.
In the 12 months following the third “Rhino” safety campaign run by Yarra Trams in Melbourne, Australia, the number of pedestrian accidents with trams decreased by 27%.

Boosting economic performance Given the strain and uncertainty of the current economic environment, the Group’s subsidiaries are carrying out numerous initiatives at a local level to continue developing and meeting customer expectations, while also reducing costs.
In 10 years, Keolis and SYTRAL, the Public Transport Authority for the Lyon region in France, have reduced fare evasion from 18% to 10%.
Striving for operational excellence Keolis is committed to continuous improvement. The Group always endeavours to perform better, in every subsidiary and in all of its departments, and seeks to deliver the highest possible standard in terms of operation and maintenance – to Public Transport Authorities and passengers alike. It does this by implementing detailed and meticulous improvement plans.
In its first year of operation, Keolis successfully maintained an average rolling stock availability rate of over 99% for DLR, the automated metro in London.
Leading by exampleEnvironment, ethics, disabilities… The Group fully understands the role it must play to meet the challenges of sustainable development. This is why it works with all its stakeholders to deliver a corporate strategy that benefits not only its passengers and its employees, but also the communities it serves.
Keolis Mobilité Paris, which operates a transport service for people with disabilities in the French capital, regularly organises meetings between its drivers and experts specialised in working with people with reduced mobility.
Promoting employee engagement Developed on a core set of values and expertise, the Group places considerable emphasis on the engagement of its employees. This is achieved through a strong brand image and a company culture focused on optimising performance.

Lille – In conjunction with Matra Transport International, Keolis was behind the world’s first automated metro, inaugurated in 1983. Today, the VAL driverless network is the largest of its kind in the world, with 45 km of double track.
Greater Paris – With the acquisition of Transports Daniel Meyer, a leading player in interurban transport in the Paris region, Keolis boosted its presence in the Greater Paris area and positioned itself strongly in view of future projects linked to the Grand Paris Express network.
Avignon – At the TGV railway station, EFFIA supplemented its existing car parking facilities (approx. 3,200 spaces) with a new 835-space eco-sustainable car park, complete with 15,000 m2 of photovoltaic panels. Customers can now book their parking spaces using an online application.

Aarhus, Denmark – The city’s future tram network will be operated by Keolis as of May 2017. This new contract will enable the Group to diversify its businesses in Denmark, where it already operates a number of bus networks.
Stockholm, Sweden – In the capital city famous for being a pioneer in sustainable development, 35% of the 1,000 buses operated by Keolis run on biogas produced by processing waste. The remaining 65% use mixed or renewable energy (biodiesel, ethanol, biodiesel-electricity hybrid).
Germany – Teutoburger Wald Network (TWN) is a new rail franchise won by Keolis in northwest Germany, which consists of five lines and transports 11 million passengers per year. The Group will start operating it in 2017.

London – A year after Keolis took over the network, the DLR in East London is recording excellent performance results. The automated metro, which carries 115 million passengers annually, is now achieving 99% of scheduled departures.

Melbourne, Australia – In Australia’s second city (population 3.8 million), Keolis has been operating the world’s largest tram network since 2009. 471 trams provide 180 million journeys per year on 28 lines totalling 250 km of track.
Gold Coast, Australia – The city’s tram network, launched by Keolis in 2014, has exceeded its passenger number targets after one year of operation. The 13-kilometre line and 16 stations recorded 6.18 million journeys, compared to the forecast of 5.7 million.
Australia – With its partner, Downer, Keolis has acquired ATE, a company that operates a fleet of 935 buses in three Australian states. This key acquisition, intended to reinforce Keolis’ position in Australia, is the largest made by the Group since its purchase of EFFIA in 2010.

Hyderabad, India – 15 train sets were successfully tested on the new automated metro in Hyderabad in 2015. The elevated metro – to be launched in October 2016 – will serve 66 stations across three lines, covering 70 km of track.
United Arab Emirates – Emirates Transport, a UAE federal transport operator, and Nesma, a Saudi engineering, construction and transport company, signed strategic partnership agreements with Keolis in 2015.
Shanghai, China – Line 8.3 of the city’s metro system will be run by Keolis as of 2017 for a period of five years. It is Shanghai’s first automated metro line and the first line in the country to be operated by a foreign company. It will transport an average of 75,000 passengers per day on 6.7 km of track.
