WELCOME TO ADMERICAThis year we gather in New Orleans, Louisiana—The Big Easy. It is hard to think of a more appropriate place for us
to gather, because New Orleans, like AAF, knows how to combine a good time with serious business. Together we
can look forward to four days of education, inspiration, celebration, and fun! ADMERICA is the place to discover
the latest developments in this exciting and vital industry. The programming is tailored to your professional and
volunteer activities. The many learning labs, workshops and keynote sessions will help you do your job,
advance your career and run your ad club. The Chairman’s Reception hosted by David Messinger of
Creative Artists Agency at Mardi Gras World and the Grand Oaks Mansion will be a time to network and reconnect
with friends and colleagues from around the country. As always, at ADMERICA we will celebrate the best of the
advertising industry. The Mosaic Awards will salute the success of creative diversity and inclusion efforts. The
National Student Advertising Competition sponsored by Tai Pei Frozen Asian Foods will showcase the
next generation of advertising talent. The Salute to Achievers luncheon will honor our outstanding grassroots
volunteers. And the American Advertising Awards will celebrate the best of our country’s creativity. A special
thank you to all of our sponsors, speakers and guests for making this conference possible. We hope you enjoy
your stay, and now, laissez le bon temps rouler—let the good times roll!

AD 2 NATIONAL
As the 32-and-under division of the AAF, Ad 2 is designed for those early in their
profession who are ready to propel their career to the next level through the network, core
values, and leadership of the AAF.
Our community of 23 (and counting!) local clubs across the United States turns the
dynamic world of advertising into a natural incubator for professionals to grow, learn
and accelerate their careers with like-minded peers. Our members exchange ideas
and contacts necessary to become advertising leaders through networking events,
professional development seminars, and public service initiatives.
Ad 2’s commitment to public service is what sets it apart from other advertising-related
organizations. For more than 40 years, Ad 2 clubs have donated holistic advertising and
marketing campaigns for those doing meaningful work for important causes and changing
lives. This year’s Public Service Competition will be held on Thursday, June 8,
10:00am-4:00pm in the Conti Room . For more information, see page 21 .
Ad 2 clubs also give back to the future of our industry as co-sponsors of the Student
American Advertising Awards. Students from around the country enter their best creative
work into the competition and an esteemed panel of judges select the best work that
is displayed as a part of the American Advertising Awards Show. The “Best of Show”
winning entry is awarded a cash prize and a travel stipend from Ad 2 National .
Every year Ad 2 National holds an annual fundraising raffle during ADMERICA to give
away exciting prizes. Raffle tickets are available throughout the conference from any Ad
2 member. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. Winners will be drawn during
ADMERICA and must be present to win.

Public Service is not just a phrase. It’s a nationwide commitment to the betterment of
our communities through passionate volunteerism of our expertise, skills, and resources
that makes the difference for local non-profit organizations who need a little help telling
their extraordinary stories.
It’s one of the qualities that set Ad 2 apart from other advertising-related organizations.
For more than 40 years, Ad 2 clubs from around the country have donated holistic
advertising and marketing campaigns for those doing meaningful work for important
causes and changing lives.
Each year Ad 2 clubs select a client, research the client’s needs, and use their
professional expertise to create a complete, strategic marketing plan tailored to that
client’s goals. Then, Ad 2 members execute that plan by creating television, radio,
print, outdoor, social media, and interactive advertising elements. Some campaigns also
include logo design, production of collateral materials and public relations initiatives.
The result? Hundreds of thousands of dollars in media value and donated services
every year. These are real results for real clients. Scores of non-profit organizations
point to the assistance they received from a local Ad 2 club as the key to their
development and success.
Ad 2 clubs enter their campaign in the national competition and are scored by an
esteemed panel of judges. The winning campaign is then showcased at the Salute to
Achiever’s Luncheon. All ADMERICA attendees are welcome to attend the competition to
lend support to their local Ad 2 clubs and to be inspired by the talent and dedication that
is making a difference in communities across the country.
The winner of this year’s competition will be announced on Friday, June 9 at
5:30pm in the Conti Room .

SUSAN COOKPRESIDENT/CREATIVE DIRECTOR, COOK | A CREATIVE CONSULTANCY
Susan started her advertising career with an internship that spanned nearly four years at Ed Yardang & Associates, an advertising agency
in San Antonio. When she graduated from Texas Christian University, she went to work for what was then First National Bank of Fort
Worth, where she stayed in their marketing department for 11 years and four name changes.
In 1990, Susan left the bank to become executive director of an international trade association. During her three-year tenure, the
organization increased membership by nearly 600 percent, increased its annual income by more than 2,000 percent, and hired six
additional staff members to support services to members.
When she left the association, she set up her own agency, Adkins and Associates (now COOK | A Creative Consultancy), where she
strategizes, writes and designs advertising for a variety of clients.
In her “spare” time, Susan works with charitable and civic organizations, having served as President of several, and on the boards of
several others. She has been heavily involved with the American Advertising Federation over the last 15 years, serving on the national
board and executive committee. She is a past president of AAF-Fort Worth, which honored her in 2003 with the Silver Medal Award—a
national award for outstanding contributions to advertising, given at the local level. Susan served the Tenth District of the AAF as governor
in 2006–2007, and as interim 2nd Lt. Governor in 2009–2010. She also served as Chairman of the AAF’s Central Region in 2010–2011.
As Governor, Susan initiated a new program called the Innovation and Leadership in Advertising Award to elevate the profile of both
AAF and advertisers, as well as to be a fundraiser for the district. It showed a net profit of $60,000 its first year and the program has
continued each year since. As Central Region Chair, Susan initiated a Central Region Conference and recruited her own club in Fort
Worth to host the first one. Meant to bridge the gap between district events and the national conference, the goal was to bring together
leaders from the five districts in the Central Region for a higher level of programming than the district or individual clubs could afford to
do on their own. That first Central Region Conference attracted 235 people from across 14 states and 5 districts.
In 2009, Susan received the coveted “Member of the Year” award from AAF-Tenth District for service to the district and its clubs and, in 2011, she
received the “Sterling Service Award,” the highest honor given at the district level. Susan has served as a trustee of the Foundation for Advertising
Education, a charitable organization which supports advertising education within the Tenth District, and in 2015 was elected Vice Chairman.
Susan is also involved with the Tarrant Area Food Bank, where she co-chaired their largest fundraiser, Empty Bowls, in 2012, introducing
new ideas to raise more money and resulting in a record-breaking profit for the Food Bank. Susan has also been a long-time supporter
of Historic Fort Worth, where she has served on the board, as an officer, and is currently on the advisory board. In 2004, Historic Fort
Worth and the YWCA of Fort Worth honored Susan as an Outstanding Woman in Business. And in 2006, Historic Fort Worth presented
her with its Citation of Merit for graphics and design work on behalf of Historic Fort Worth.

TERI HAMBURGEREXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AAF OMAHA
Teri joined AAF Omaha more than two decades ago. Given a list of priorities when hired by AAF Omaha Teri grasped the role immediately,
making significant changes and improvements in club operations. Teri has worked tirelessly since 1996 for the federation with a
commitment and enthusiasm for AAF on the local, district and national levels in everything she does to support the organization.
Soon after joining AAF Omaha, Teri and club leaders realized quickly her art education and event planning experiences were key in
helping grow and achieve club strategic planning goals. Teri keeps a watchful eye on club finances, assists with board training, member
services, event planning, communications, educational programs and legislative efforts. Her eye for detail has helped the club receive
numerous club achievement awards over the years. Teri meets with local businesses and non-profits, promotes AAF Omaha at legislative
events, attends AAF 9th District and National AAF events and is constantly looking for creative ways to improve club programming and
to recruit new members. Teri not only fulfills her role as Executive Director of the club she also volunteers to work on AAF Omaha public
service and education initiatives.
Teri has taken an active role working closely with college students and educators throughout Nebraska. She cultivates relationships with
students knowing they will be the future leaders of AAF Omaha or go on to other chapters across the country. She regularly speaks in
university classrooms sharing the importance of AAF and our unifying voice for advertising. Teri is a mentor to many local university
students each year and developed the AAF UNO Student Ad Club leadership training program with their student chapter advisor.
AAF Omaha started a Student Ambassador Program under Teri’s direction allowing students to interact more often with professional
members. With the direction of the Education committee Teri oversees the Club’s scholarship funds. During the last ten years the club
has awarded over $110,000 in scholarships to Nebraska students.
Claudia Martin AAF 9th District Governor (1996–1997) reflected recently, “How was I to know twenty years ago, that one of my most
important contributions to AAF Omaha would be to vote yes to hiring Teri as our Executive Director.” Since that day, Teri has served as
much more than an Executive Director advocating for the rights of advertisers. She has worked for twenty club presidents and hundreds
of board members. Board members year after year are amazed at how she builds relationships getting to know every member, takes an
interest in them, and helps them to be the very best AAF Omaha volunteer they can be.
According to AAF Omaha’s (2002–2003) President Cris Hay, Teri nurtures the volunteer board leaders as they take on new and
unfamiliar roles. “Teri educated us, laughed with us when things got crazy and helped us celebrate as our chapter flourished and grew.”
The relationships Teri has forged over the years with suppliers, sponsors, prospective volunteers, chapter veterans and AAF club leaders
across the country are the source of solutions, and a testament to an exceptional leader.
Teri has been married to her college sweetheart for 34 years and is the proud mother of one daughter graduating from Northwestern
University in Chicago this spring. Teri is an active community volunteer, has served on numerous boards, was named a YWCA Woman
of Distinction and honored as AAF Omaha’s 2015 Silver Medal Winner. When she is not working or attending a committee meeting you
mostly likely will find Teri outside in her patio garden painting or playing golf with her husband.
