ALL SAINTS MESSENGER A very warm welcome to All Saints. If you are a visitor, we do extend a particularly warm welcome to you and if you would like any help or more information about the church or the services then please speak to one of the welcome team. Back Supports and large print copies of hymns are available, as well as in induction hearing loop – please ask for details of how to make use of this. Toilets & baby changing facilities are located at the back of the church under the bell tower. Children are very welcome at all our services and there are activities available for them. If you have young children, please ask for a ‘pew bag’ which contains some specific toys/activities for them. Please check the notices for children’s’ activities. REGULAR ACTIVITIES WEDNESDAYS THE JOLLY TEAPOT 11am -1.00pm You'll see this sign hanging on the gate of All Saints every Wednesday morning, when the Church is open from 11.00am until 1.00pm. Come in for a chat and coffee and cake, (or tea). It's also a good opportunity for visitors to look round the Church and avail themselves of the printed guides, or for people to bring food items for the Salvation Army Food Bank. Some people may just want to sit quietly. All will be welcome. Donations for coffee go to All Saints Church Funds. HOLY COMMUNION 11am Monthly Midweek Holy Communion – contact Margaret White on 710 054 for more information and dates. Midweek Holy communion will be on Wednesday 8 th November at 11.00am at Lorna’s house 11 The Moors Drive, led by Terry Richards. FIRST STEPS 2pm -3pm (in term time) For preschooler’s & their parents/grandparents/carers – Stories, Songs, Craft, Activities, Refreshments. All Welcome MOTHERS’ UNION 2pm Held monthly on the 2 nd Wednesday of the month in the Methodist Hall. Everyone welcome. THURSDAYS QUEST DISCUSSION GROUP Meets every 2 nd & 4 th Thursday of the Month at 7.45pm for 8pm –9.30pm further details from Jane Bullock on 711 531 BELL RINGING 7.30pm – 8.30pm Church Bellringing practice on the first Thursday of every month 7:30 - 8:30 please contact Richard Solesbury-Timms on 07456716031 for details. Update - Operation Christmas Child 2017 - Shoeboxes bursting with joy

Our final ‘Wrap & Fill’ session with coffee/tea, cake & chat to enjoy is on Saturday 11th November, from 9.30am to 2.30pm, in the Methodist Schoolrooms, Queen Street, Middleton Cheney, OX17 2NP.All helpers welcome, and goodies, empty shoeboxes (approx. size 12’’x7’’x5’’), wrapping paper, and money donations towards the £5 project cost to get each filled shoe box to a needy child.

Goodies we particularly need are (new please):- Black/blue pens; Pencil sharpeners; Erasers; Felt pens/colouring pencils; Sheets of stickers; Paper pads – lined or plain / colouring books, A5 size max; Pencil cases / draw-string bags / wash bags; Toothpastes; Flannels; Soap; Hairbrushes/combs; Sweets (dated at least March 2018); Gloves/scarves/socks.

So far, we have got 147 completed shoe boxes of goodies, which is fantastic, but we still have lots of goodies and more time to produce even more fun filled boxes for needy children this Christmas!

Many thanks to all our helpers and contributors.

The Library & The Butler’s Pantry are also ‘Drop-off Points’ during theirnormal opening times.

Final date for dropping off completed boxes is Saturday 18th November.

ALL SOULS MEMORIAL SERVICE - At 4 pm on Sunday November 5th, All Saints Church will be welcoming families and friends of those who have died in the past year or whose anniversaries fall at this time, for an All Souls Service of remembrance. If you have anyone you wish to be named at the service, please give details to Chris 710076 or Violet 712431, or to the churchwardens. Please pass this information to any friends or neighbours who may want a loved one remembered in this way. All are welcome.

CHURCH FLOODLIGHTING Would you like to sponsor the floodlighting to celebrate a special event or in memory of a loved one? Floodlighting can be sponsored on a weekly basis with all notifications going in the village column in the Banbury Guardian. Please contact Keith White on 710 054

BRING AND SHARE LUNCH November will soon be with us, and what could be more comforting than a nice hot baked potato with a choice of tasty toppings. Come and join us! everyone is welcome. Baked potatoes will be served at the next Shared Lunch on Sunday November 5th at 12.30pm in the Methodist Schoolroom. Please bring a topping or a pudding to share. The united service that day will be conducted by Deacon Margaret Hale in the Methodist Church at 10.45am.
