My Dog Dash Did you ever wonder what a dog’s life is like? Let me share with you from a dogs perspective. My name is Dash and my neighbor at home is Emma, the cat. I live most of my time in my master’s motor home (Chief Bob). He is called Chief because some of the Navy guys at our park heard that he retired as a Chief.

Back to my story, after a couple of years staring across the street, it gets sort of boring! Especially after my good friend Sara passed away. She was a beautiful black lab. You never could have found a more friendly friend! Most every day she would come over to visit me and my master (Chief Bob Legg) and his beautiful wife Elsie, plus they always had a treat for her.

I remember a while back when some young girls were walking by and they kept staring at me. They kept talking then finally they asked my master if I was real. Boy was I upset! After that, Chief made me a special leather collar with my name Dash on it. I felt a lot better after that.

Now about my neighbors across the street, they have a pretty cat named Emma and her masters are Lee and Jan. I just wanted to let you know Emma has them trained good. They get up about 5 am and take her outside for a drink. Kind of different, but she likes to drink out of their bird bath. She takes about 15 minutes to drink. I really think it is because Lee is raising goldfish in the bird bath. Seems like a crazy place to raise goldfish though.

Now, Chief and wife Elsie decided to go on a fishing trip with a bunch of Airstreamers and they decided to let me go. I get to sit on their couch and look out the window. We arrived at Curlew Lake in Eastern WA and Chief hooked everything up. I had a bird’s eye view of the lake sitting in the driver’s window.

I could hardly believe it but a man by the name of Neil asked if I was real. What a put down! Just a while ago, I was lying around and Chief had a couple of the windows open. The wind was blowing so hard that my tongue started flapping. Boy what a thrill that was!

Well, here comes Chief dragging his boat up on the bank and looks like he has a couple of fish. I am sure he will be going to happy hour and telling about the big one that got away.

Last evening when I was sitting on my master’s motor home dash, I overheard some conversations they were having at happy hour. Chief found out that Harold lost his Ford Fender, so he was given Billy Bass. Patty was listening intently and was shocked that the fender fell off of Harold’s truck. You guessed it! Patty received Billy Bass too. Kristy was sitting beside her and did not share that she had no idea what they were talking about. Those Airstreamers sure know how to have fun.

If you want to know what a Ford Fender is check with the Chief. About Billy Bass, that is a whole different story. Stop by and see me some time as I am always lying around in Chief’s Airstream.

Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU! The Planning Committee wants to thank the WA Airstream Club for their participation and generosity at our June 1st Northwest Battle Buddies (NWBB) fundraiser. More than 90% of the financial donors were our own Club members! We raised over $16,000 which amazed the founder and President, Shannon Walker and NWBB team that were at our event. Shannon said, that "Never before has a third party raised so much money for us." The NWBB team was also surprised at how professionally everything was organized. So, thank you to all the volunteers and those who came that Saturday. Airstream members are the best!!! Also, if we can remember the long list of local businesses that donated many things, say, "Thank you," to them. Last, but not least, we need to thank our Club President, Darlene Leslie, for being so moved by the NWBB story, that she wanted "to do something for them,” and got the ball rolling by asking Mike Plympton to chair an event. Planning Team members: Mike Plympton, Cathy Cook, Deborah Haley, Debbie Decker, Bill Reed, John Brown, Larry Alvar, Stephanie Daly, Carol Ortiz.
