“Youth ministry is perfectly designed to achieve the results you are
currently getting.”-Andy Stanley
...so how do we change the results to affect the climate?
It’s time to...
Sticky Discipleship
• Understand the Church as the effect of discipleship and not the cause.
• Building the church (youth ministry) is no guarantee you will make disciples. You are more likely to create consumers.
• If you build disciples, you always get the church (youth ministry). If you build a church, you don’t necessarily build disciples.
A Three Year Rule?
CHILD – Moses was trained in a Levite home for the first 3 YEARS OF HIS LIFE, (EXODUS 2)
YOUTH – Daniel and the other youth were trained for 3 years, (DANIEL 1:5)
ADULT – Paul received 3 years of training, (GALATIANS 1:18)
Jesus walked with disciples for 3 years
Jesus cursed the fig tree for not having fruit after 3 years, (Luke 13:6-7)
Big Dreams don’t bring results…
Execution of the those Dreams is what brings results…
to properly execute your dreams you need…
STRUCTURE.
Galatians 5.1-61 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand
firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. 2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I
declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4 You who
are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from
grace. 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. 6 For in
Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith
expressing itself through love.
“It’s God’s job to work in us and to present us as righteous; our
job is to learn to trust God and let the
process proceed.”
-Sticky Faith

themselves for God to move into their lives.
