UDHAMPUR: At least seven persons got injured in a mata-dor accident near Bali Nallah in Udhampur on Thursday.
According to a report, a matador (JK02Q-9035) on itsway to Chenani from Udhampur met with an accident nearBali Nallah in Udhampur. In the accident seven passengersgot critically injured and were identified as 78 years PushpaDevi wife of Onkar Singh resident of village Narsoo, 60years Vishno Devi wife of Nasib Chand resident of Chenani,36 years Jyoti Devi wife of Yashpal resident of Bashit, PremNath son of Jalla resident of Sudhmahadev, Arti Devidaughter of Pramu resident of Sudhmahadev, Ram Piyariwife of Raju, Subash Kumar and Noor Mohd. son ofKhurshid resident of Chilyad. All the injured was shifted toDistrict Hospital Udhampur. Udhampur Police has regis-tered a case for investigation.

POONCH: Police on Thursday foiled four bovine smug-gling bids by rescuing 20 bovines and arresting four smug-glers.
As per the details, based on a reliable information regard-ing illegal transportation of bovines animals and on thedirections of Sr. Supdt. of Police Poonch Rajiv Pandey, aparty led by SHO Surankote Insp. Som Raj, In-ChargePolice Post Behramgalla SI Jonesh Verma intercepted fourTata Mobiles (JK12A-2971,JK05F- 7730,JK12A-2087andJK12A-7320) which were on its way from Surankotetowards Kashmir. During the search of said vehicles,20bovines were found loaded in them which were rescued andfour smugglers namely Imran Ahmed son of Mohd. LatiefKhan resident of Banola Tehsil Mendhar; Naseer Ahmedson of Wali Mohd. resident of Narool, Tehsil Mendhar; MohdAjaz son of Mohd. Bashir resident of Khanetar Tehsil Haveliand Mohd Azad son of Faiz Mohd. resident of KhanetarTehsil Haveli Distt Poonch were arrested. Separate casesunder relevant sections of law were registered and investiga-tion taken up.
Unidentified male body found STATE TIMES NEWS
SAMBA: An unidentified male body was recovered from vil-lage Talot of Samba on Thursday.
According to a report, today morning some persons on see-ing a male body near Talot Forest area, informed the policewho reached on the spot and took the body into their custody.
Sources disclosed that the face of the deceased was coveredwith polythene and throat was tied with Salwar with somecut marks. The body was kept in the mortuary room ofDistrict Hospital Samba for identification. Police has takencognisance in the matter and started further investigation.

SAMBA/R S PURA: Police on Thursday arrested two per-sons and recovered heroin from their possession.
According a report, a team of Bari Brahmana PoliceStation along with Anti Drug Squad apprehended oneMushtaq son of Titar Din resident of Sarore Adda BariBrahmana and recovered 5.5 grams of heroin from his pos-session. The accused was arrested and a case under NDPSAct was registered against him.
In this regard, a police party intercepted Jaspreet Singhand during his search seized 8 grams of heroin from his pos-session in the Kotli Shah area in R S Pura. A case has beenregistered against Singh, police said.
Hardcore criminal slapped with PSASTATE TIMES NEWS
SAMBA: A hardcore criminal was on Thursday arrested andslapped with the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) inSamba District, police said. Vipan Kumar Gupta alias Jonywas nabbed by a special police team during a raid, a policeofficer said.
He was involved in a number of criminal activities anddrug peddling. At least eight criminal cases are registeredagainst him at Police Station Bari Brahmana.
Jony's motive was not only to create terror among thepeaceful and law abiding citizens of the town but also form agang of criminals, the officer said.
To put an end to his criminal activities, District PoliceSamba compiled all the police records of Jony, prepared hisdossier and got issued his warrant under the PSA from theDeputy Commissioner, Samba, he said. Jony was a threat tothe life and liberty of the people of Samba, the officer added.
The PSA is an administrative detention law that allowsdetention without charge or trial for up to two years in somecases. He was lodged in District Sub-Jail Hiranagar, theofficer said.

A total of30 machines have alreadybeen installed in the Silkfactory costing Rs 16 cr.
