Drug peddler nabbed with7,000 intoxicating capsules STATE TIMES NEWS
KATHUA: Police on Saturday arrested a drug peddler andrecovered 7,000 intoxicating capsules from his possession.
As per the details, acting sternly against drug menace, apolice team of Police Station Kathua during patrolling dutyin Tareyada Barnoti area seized 7000 SPM-PRX+ capsulesfrom the possession of one Falli Ram son of late Sardari Lalresident of Jarmal Nagri Kathua. He was arrested and acase vide FIR no 371/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Actwas registered against the accused.

SAMBA: Police on Saturday arrested one drug peddler andrecovered 700 grams of poppy straw from his possession.
According a report, Ramgarh Police intercepted one person atvillage Rarian during the Naka checking who was moving undersuspicious circumstances. During his frisking, police recovered700 grams of poppy from his possession. The accused identifiedas Raj Masih son of Bachan Masih, resident of Bainglad,Samba was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 66/2018 undersection 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at Police StationRamgarh. The whole operation was conducted under the over-all supervision of SSP Samba Dr Koushal Sharma and directsupervision of SDPO Vijaypur Baljeet Singh.

As per the details, abscon-der namely Nizam Din son of Asadullah resident of DalwaThe Gool who was evading arrest for the last one year wasarrested by Dharmkund Police. He was involved in case videFIR No 24/8/17 under sections 376/363/342/109 of PoliceStation Dharamkund. The accused was arrested by a teamheaded by SHO Dharmkund Ajit Singh under the closesupervision of Asgar Malik DySP Hqrs Ramban and AddlSP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and under the overall supervi-sion of Anita Sharma SSP Ramban.

KATHUA: Motor Vehicle Department has realized over Rs4.5 lakh fine from traffic violators during a special 2 daydrive. As per the MVD, the drive launched under theSupervision of RTO Dr. Raj K. Thapa started by laying anaka on National highway near RTO office at 10 PM yester-day which continued till 11.30 AM on this morning.
A total of 278 vehicles were checked and fine to the tuneof Rs. 482900 (Four Lac, Eighty two Thousand & NineHundred only) was realised for violation of various provisionsof Motor Vehicle Act & rules framed. Various vehicles wereimposed fine for offences like not wearing seat belt, withouthelmet, w/o Pollution Under Control Certificates, usingmobile phone while driving, overloading in goods vehicles etc.The other members of team were ARTO Kathua KuldeepSingh, MVI Vikas Srivats, MVI Kamal Kumar , MVIRavinder Kumar and other MVD Officials.
Scooty rider killed, four injured in mishaps STATE TIMES NEWS
SAMBA: A Scooty rider was killed while four others gotinjured in road mishaps in District Samba on Saturday.
According to a report, a motorcycle without registrationnumber hit a Scooty (JK02BK- 2183 ) near IOC BottlingPlant at Kartholi Bari Brahmana, resulting in the scootyrider death on spot.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary ofGovernment Medical College and Hospital Jammu for autop-sy and was identified as Balbir Singh son of Pritam Singhresident of Kathar Pindi Charkan Jammu. Police has takencognisance the matter and started investigation.
Meanwhile, Ravi Kant son of Prem Nath resident of upperHarsarh Ghagwal got injured when a motorcycle (PB35F-0939) he was riding was hit by an army vehicle atMaheshwar area of Samba resulting in injuries to him. Hewas shifted to District Hospital Samba for treatment fromwhere doctors referred him to Government Medical Collegeand Hospital Jammu for further treatment. Meanwhile threepersons were seriously injured when a vehicle bearing regis-tration No JK01S-6726 on its way from Rajouri to Jammurolled down from the road and fell into 90 feet deep gorgenear Lamberi. The injured persons were immediately shiftedto Sub District Hospital Nowshera but due to the criticalcondition of two persons namely Javed Ahmed, son ofJalaludin, resident of Pulwama and Bashir Ahmed, son ofAbdul Ajij, resident of Kamkhani, Kashmir were evacuatedto Government Medical College Hospital Jammu. The thirdinjured Mohd Rafiq, son of Abdul Rehman, resident ofPatnitop was admitted in Sub District Hospital Nowshera.Police has registered the case for investigation.
