Friday September 29, 2017 10 DISTRICTS STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: In the ongoing State Football League, three matches were played at Polo Ground and Synthetic Turf TRC venues on Wed (September 27) . In the first A-Division match, played at Polo Ground, Islamic University (ISU) FC defeated Mohamadan FC by two goals for nil. Mosin and Musaib were the scorers for the win- ning team. In a second A-Division match played at Synthetic Turf TRC, Fort View beat FC Biscoe XI by 1-0. Both the teams played aggressively throughout the match, but it was Fort View FC which could sustain the pressure till the end and emerge victorious. Javed Ahmad was the scorer for the winning team. FC Biscoe missed two three open net chances. In Premier-Division match was also played at Synthetic Turf TRC, between JK SPDC XI and State Football Academy. Both teams tried hard to take lead but no one was able to score the goal till the final whistle. Both the teams missed chances one after other. The match ended in a draw. Touseef feom SFA was declared as Footballer of the Match for his best perform- ance. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Various educational institutions celebrated Dussehra, Ram Navmi, Gandhi Jayanti with religious fervour. Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu organised a special assembly on the occasion of Dussehra festival and Gandhi Jayanti. The assembly began with the floral tributes paid to the Father of Nation 'Mahatma Gandhi' who preached peace, truthfulness and non-violence and finally achieved India's independence after great struggle with Britishers. On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra festival, the student anchors of class II Jeena Nuryn and Shaunish Vaid spoke about the importance of this festival and stated that it was the victory of good over evil. A group dance was also presented by the Pre-Primary stu- dents depicting the mythological characters of Ram Chandra, Laxman and Mata Sita with Hanuman which attracted the attention of the audience. A scene from Ramayana was enact- ed by class II students which ended with Ravana-Dahan and reinforced the message that 'good always triumphs over evil.' While highlighting the importance of these festivals, Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra blessed the partici- pants and students, inspiring them to follow the path of truth, beauty and goodness. Headmistress, Meenu Gupta blessed the students for their bright future. The event culminated under the supervision of co-ordinators, Sangeeta Jain, Preeti Abrol and teacher incharge, Pooja Sharma. The vote of thanks was presented by Shabana Rahil which was followed by the recitation of National Anthem. DPS Leh conducted special-assembly to celebrate Ramnavmi and Dusshera for the Pre-Primary and Primary Wing of the School. The students came in different attires and make-up to match with the character of Shri Rama, Lakshamana, Sita Mata, Bharat, Veer Hanuman, Ravana and many more. The students of the Pre-Primary Wing of the school per- formed and acted upon the different scenes taken from the Epic Ramayana depicting the life of Shri Rama, the prince of Ayodhya. The students of Primary Wing also spoke in length about the life history of Shri Rama. Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar celebrated Ram Navami, Dusshera and Gandhi Jayanti. The programme started with the Kanjak Pujan by Principal, Rameshwar Mengi. Students presented various cultural programme represent- ing the significance of celebrating Dusshera as well as depict- ing the scene of Ramleela and Gandhi Jayanti Rameshwar Mengi appreciated the rites and rituals and cus- toms of the society which make a person to lead a moralistic life. Pushap Vatika a unit of Shiksha NIketan also celebrated Ram Navmi, Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti in the school ground. Shiksha Niketan High School Gandhi Nagar celebrated Ram Navami and Dusshera with great zeal and enthusiasm. Vaishno Mata's Darbar was set up with children playing the role of all nine goddess, Ramchandar, Sita Mata and Lakshman. J&K Police Public School, Miran Sahib, celebrated Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti in the school premises. Students were dressed up as different characters of Ramlila. They also celebrated the birth of Mahatama Gandhi, Lal Bhadur Shastri and Bhagat Singh . Colour was brought to the occasion with children from primary wing dressed in clothes resembling Mahatama Gandhi and the students also present- ed a skit on the theme of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. Principal, Sanjeev Pradhan the fest the students a lot for making the occasion lively and appreciated them for their efforts. Competition was held in Government Degree College Jindrah on Truth and Non-voilence. The programme was presided over by Principal Prof. Rita Bhagat who highlighted the contribution of Ghandian philosophy of truth and non-vio- lence in the present scenario. Prof. K.K. Mangotra, Prof. Paramjit Singh and Dr. Mohd. Majeed, acted as judges of the competition. Thirteen students participated in the debate competition out of which three stu- dents i.e. Deepi (Vth Sem), Chakshu (1st Sem) and Sharuti (Vth) and Sapna (Vth) were adjudged as first, second and third respectively. The function was concluded with the distri- bution of consolation prizes to all the participants and vote of thanks to the organising committee. Humanity Public School organised a colourful fest in its premises with great fervour and enthusiasm. During the fest variety of programmes on Ramnavmi, Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti were held by the students. Students performed skit, sung songs, delivered speeches and presented colourful items. Principal, Gaurav Singh Charak appreciated the efforts of students and teachers for the smooth conduct of the pro- gramme. He said that all of us must follow the path of truth and always fight against the evil. Dussehra was celebrated at Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana. Various activities including speeches on Dussehra, poetic Ramayana and a dance on Hanuman Chalisa glorified the occasion. The effigy of Ravana was burnt and side by side students pieces of papers mentioning one bad habits, which they prom- ised to shun. Trustee, Ruchi Charak and Principal Anita Bhatia blessed the participants and students while inspiring them to follow the path of truth. It was urged by the Trustee Ruchi Charak that we must celebrate eco friendly Dussehra and Diwali. Students, teachers and parents of May Fair Schools Chand Nagar, Chinore and Janipur Branches joined together to cel- ebrate the festival of Dussehra. Dressed in traditional Indian attire, the students performed narrative, choral speaking, drama and dances to portray how the people of each region celebrate this important festival. Pre-primary students focused on how the people of southern India celebrate Dussehra. They dramatized the story of Lord Rama and Sita and the defeat of Lord Ravan. Depicting traditional celebrations from the Eastern parts of India, students from Classes III and IV used dramatic move- ments set to a poem entitled Good Versus Evil, to perform an energetic and powerful piece of choral speaking. Traditional celebrations from the North of India were illus- trated by students from Class I and II. Grade II students showcased their language skills by speaking in English and Hindi to describe how the stories surrounding the Dussehra festival teach us to overcome evil in our own lives today. KIDZEE, a pre-school of ZEE Learn Limited celebrated Ramnavmi, Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti at its Anand Nagar Bohri, Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat, Talab Tillo and Trikuta Nagar branches with religious fervour and enthusi- asm. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: State Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Yudhvir Sethi, on Wednesday said that Khadi is recognised as an international brand and every effort must be put in to promote, facilitate and assist in establishment and development of Khadi and Village Industries in rural areas. He said the Union Government through its Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises also offers a number of schemes for the holistic development and promo- tion of Khadi in India and abroad. Yudhvir Sethi was speak- ing at a function organised by school children and management of Nightingale Pre-School to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti where he was the Chief Guest. Social activist Kewal Wadhera presided over the event. Yudhvir Sethi lauded the school management in organising an impressive cultural programme under the guidance of school Principal Sonia Jain wherein children highlight- ed the life of Mahatama Gandhi in different events. He said we must live to the expectations of our fel- low citizens and try to be courteous towards each other. He said the values and principles of Mahatma Gandhi are quite relevant even today which must be followed with conviction. The youth, he added must get into this venture and seek interest subsidy meant for developing Khadi Village industries. Wadhera appreciated the school children for their scintillating performance and said that students must be caught young when it comes to imparting moral values to them. He said that such programmes enable students to know our country's icons and also help them learn our histori- cal facts that helped shape a new and strong India. Earlier, school children dressed as Mahatama Gandhi gave messages of peace and prosperity. They also presented different skits and musical pro- grammes. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Government Women College (GCW) Parade clinched the Inter Collegiate Basketball (women) 2017-18 Title by defeating PG Department by 32-29 in a nail biting final match played at University Basketball Court, here on Thursday. The tournament was organ- ised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu. Earlier, in the final match GCW Parade took the lead in first two quarters by 20-05 but in third and fourth quar- ters Abhileen Kaur, Kanupriya Dubey and Shivali Kumari showed their experi- ence and came close to 29-28 points with 40 seconds remaining in the last quarter. Pratibha Tagotra and Harman Kour were the star performers and ended the match with final score on the board was 32-29 points. The final match was officiat- ed by the Technical Panel including Rajesh Bandral, Shubham Sharma, Kunal Gupta, Rishabh Bakshi and Romesh Singh. Medical camp by JIAR concludes at Bahu Fort STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: To provide free med- ical aid facilities to devotees during Navratras, a nine-day long Free Medical Camp by Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research (JIAR) Hospital, Nardani concluded at Bahu Fort on Thursday. A Medical checkup of total 168 patients was carried out on concluding day. The Camp was attended by doctors of different specialties from the College. Doctors from college having vast experiences in their respec- tive specialization examined patients seeking remedies for various ailments. Patients of various diseases related to joint disorders, Hyper acidity, hyper tension, skin disorder, joint pain, piles and Fistula etc were examined and free medicines distributed to them. Doctors who exam- ined the patients today includ- ed Dr. Twinkle Gupta- Associate Professor, Dr. Bhawna- Assistant Professor and Dr Nitin Mahajan- Vice Principal and PG Scholars of Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research. STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: District Administration, Rajouri on Thursday convened one-day Lok Adalat and decided over one hundred cases related to selection of Anganwari workers, helpers and service related mat- ters. A total of 113 cases pending for the last 8-10 years were taken up and decided by a team of officers. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary chaired the proceedings of Lok Adalat which was attended by Programme Officer ICDS Mohammad Rashid, ACR A Q Mir, DSWO Dr. Abdul Khabir, DIO Mohammad Shafait, SDMs Kartar Singh, Khalid Hussain, Gopal Singh, Afzal Mirza, Tehsildars, CDPO, Naib Tehsildars, Advocates, petition- ers and respondents apart from concerned Halqa Patwaris and officials of various related departments. The Lok Adalat for disposal of Anganwari cases considered 81 cases related to selection of workers pending in various courts and offices for last 8-10 years waiting for adjudication and decision. Apart from these, 32 cases related to functioning of centres, location and man- agement were taken up and decided. DC Dr. Shahid reprimanded the concerned officials for pro- longed delay in deciding the cases and emphasized that for avoiding delay the State Govt has laid down mandatory guide- lines that first appellate author- ity in all such cases is Deputy Commissioner and second appellate authority is Divisional Commissioner, with decision of later being final. The cases decided include 23 of Tehsil Rajouri, 10 of Sunderbani, 5 of Manjakote, 20 of Budhal, 8 of Kalakote, 5 of Nowshera and 10 of Thanamandi. Meanwhile SDMs, Tehsildars and CDPOs have been directed to closely monitor the function- ing of Anganwadi centres and provision for ration and educa- tional aids in. JAMMU: GovernmentWomen College (GCW)Parade clinched the InterCollegiate Basketball(women) 2017-18 Title bydefeating PG Department by32-29 in a nail biting finalmatch played at UniversityBasketball Court, here onThursday.

The tournament was organ-ised by the Directorate ofSports and PhysicalEducation, University ofJammu.

Earlier, in the final match

GCW Parade took the lead infirst two quarters by 20-05but in third and fourth quar-ters Abhileen Kaur,Kanupriya Dubey and ShivaliKumari showed their experi-ence and came close to 29-28points with 40 secondsremaining in the last quarter.

Pratibha Tagotra andHarman Kour were the starperformers and ended thematch with final score on theboard was 32-29 points.

JAMMU: To provide free med-ical aid facilities to devoteesduring Navratras, a nine-daylong Free Medical Camp byJammu Institute of Ayurvedaand Research (JIAR)Hospital, Nardani concludedat Bahu Fort on Thursday.

A Medical checkup of total168 patients was carried out onconcluding day.

The Camp was attended bydoctors of different specialtiesfrom the College.

Doctors from college havingvast experiences in their respec-tive specialization examinedpatients seeking remedies forvarious ailments.

Patients of various diseasesrelated to joint disorders,Hyper acidity, hyper tension,skin disorder, joint pain, pilesand Fistula etc were examinedand free medicines distributedto them. Doctors who exam-ined the patients today includ-ed Dr. Twinkle Gupta-Associate Professor, Dr.Bhawna- Assistant Professorand Dr Nitin Mahajan- VicePrincipal and PG Scholars ofJammu Institute of Ayurvedaand Research.

A total of 113 cases pendingfor the last 8-10 years weretaken up and decided by a teamof officers.

Deputy Commissioner Dr.Shahid Iqbal Choudharychaired the proceedings of LokAdalat which was attended byProgramme Officer ICDSMohammad Rashid, ACR A QMir, DSWO Dr. Abdul Khabir,DIO Mohammad Shafait,SDMs Kartar Singh, KhalidHussain, Gopal Singh, AfzalMirza, Tehsildars, CDPO, NaibTehsildars, Advocates, petition-ers and respondents apart fromconcerned Halqa Patwaris andofficials of various relateddepartments.

The Lok Adalat for disposal ofAnganwari cases considered 81cases related to selection ofworkers pending in variouscourts and offices for last 8-10

years waiting for adjudicationand decision. Apart from these,32 cases related to functioningof centres, location and man-agement were taken up anddecided.

DC Dr. Shahid reprimandedthe concerned officials for pro-longed delay in deciding thecases and emphasized that foravoiding delay the State Govthas laid down mandatory guide-lines that first appellate author-ity in all such cases is DeputyCommissioner and secondappellate authority is DivisionalCommissioner, with decision oflater being final.

The cases decided include 23of Tehsil Rajouri, 10 ofSunderbani, 5 of Manjakote, 20of Budhal, 8 of Kalakote, 5 ofNowshera and 10 ofThanamandi.

Meanwhile SDMs, Tehsildarsand CDPOs have been directedto closely monitor the function-ing of Anganwadi centres andprovision for ration and educa-tional aids in. He directed theofficers to terminate the servic-es of Anganwadi workers andhelpers if the centres are foundclosed during inspections.
