    natural gas is used to heat the boiler to

    convertthewaterintosteam.

    Thesteamisusedtoturnaturbine,whichis

    When the turbine turns, electricity isgenerated and given as output by the

    STEAMTURBINESteam turbines are used to drive thegenerators,whichproduceelectricity.

    The turbines are driven by steam

    generated in 'Boilers' or 'SteamGenerators.

    Energy in the steam after it leaves theboilerisconvertedintorotationalenergyasitpassesthroughtheturbine.

    The rotatingblades convert the kinetic

    rotatingmagneticfield

    producedbydirectcurrentinthecopperwindingoftherotororfield,

    which generates three-phase alternating currentsandvoltagesinthecopperwindingofthestator(armature).

    The stator winding is connected toterminals,whichareinturnconnectedtothepower system for delivery of theoutputpowertothesystem.
