Univision 40 (WUVC) launched in 2003. UniMás (formerly TeleFutura) launched in 2004

WUVC-TV-Univision 40, is North Carolina’s first Spanish-language television station

WUVC Univision 40 and UniMás serve the local Hispanic community living in 23 counties in central North Carolina

Univision 40 is the first television station in North Carolina to create a Spanish-language, local newscast and a primetime weekend talk show

In August, 2011, WUVC launched the first Spanish-language, 30-minute newscast in the state of North Carolina. Noticias 40 airs Monday-Friday at 6:00pm and 11:00pm

Both stations have full production capabilities

WUVC’s programming includes the Univision Network’s blockbuster lineup including, novelas (long-run miniseries)-the most popular genre in Spanish-language television today, national newscasts, local newscast, variety shows, children’s programming, musical specials, movies and world-class sporting events

Univision 40 and UniMás provide extensive coverage of major sporting events including the World Cup, Gold Cup, Confederations Cup, Champion’s League, Copa America, MLS and the popular Mexican League soccer

NOTICIAS 40 Weekdays, 6:00 pm- 6:30 pm ET and 11:00 pm - 11:30pm NOTICIAS 40 is North Carolina’s FIRST, daily, local Spanish-Language news source and continues to be the lead provider of news and information for the Hispanic community. Launched in April, 2004, NOTICIAS 40 brought the Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville Hispanic community 2-minute local news updates that directly impact the local Hispanic population. In February, 2011, WUVC launched the first, 30-minute, Spanish-language newscast in the state of North Carolina.

TeleFutura has Spanish-language exclusive rights to 21 Major League Soccer games. In 2007 the league adopted the designated player rule, which allowed each club to sign a superstar. While England’s David Beckham was the first player inked under the new rules, the league is clearly focused on bringing in star Latin talent. Games feature the teams from the top U.S. Hispanic markets like Los Angeles, New York, Houston and Chicago.

Univision 40’s Traffic Department must receive creative 48 hours before it is scheduled to air (not including weekends). During holidays they need to be received five days before it is scheduled to air

Commercials must meet Univision’s broadcast standards. Univision reserves the right to reject any commercial that does not meet our broadcast standards

Univision requires that all verbal and written Spanish be properly spelled and grammatically correct. We do not accept commercials with English language (verbal or written). We do not accept commercials that are dubbed in Spanish over a person that was taped while speaking English

Traffic instructions are due 48 business hours before the commercial is scheduled to air
