ANNOUNCED MASS UPDATE/2016 BOOK
The following Masses are still available for your intentions:
Holy Day Vigil, December 31st 5:15 pm
There are also 25 Monday-Saturday, 8 & 9 am Masses.
The 2016 Mass Book will open on Thursday, July 16th. Masses may be requested by mail or in person at the rectory. In person requests will be filled first; followed by mail requests-- in the order they were received. The requested donation is $20. Forms will be available in July at the rear of the Church and on the website.
Parish and School Offices Closed on Friday July 3rd in Observance of the July 4th Holiday.
There will be one morning Mass at 9 am on Saturday July 4th. Please join us for this Mass which will be said "For Our Country".
Religious Education
Did you know that St. Mary of the Assumption Parish has a Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima?
Each person or family in the parish is encouraged and welcome to have the statue of Our Blessed Mother in their home for a week to pray with their families and receive many, many blessings.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION SUMMER MONTHS
There is no Adoration during July & August.
The Church will still be open for personal prayer before the Eucharist.
First Friday Mass at 7:30 pm will still be offered throughout the summer.
Our regular Adoration schedule will resume Friday September 11, 2015.
Saint Marys Religious Education Program is seek-ing faith filled and enthusiastic people to share the faith with the young people of our parish. We are in need of 4th grade catechists for Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:45. In addi-tion we are seeking substitute catechists for all days. Classes are held Monday through Thursday from 4:30 to 5:45 and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:30. No teaching experience is required, just a willingness to share your faith with the children of our parish. Freedom Under God
This week as we celebrate Independence Day, we do well to come together to praise and thank God for our gift of freedom. The United States of America is founded on a belief in God: without God it cannot stand.
When you pick up the Declaration of Independence, the charter which gave birth to this nation, you read: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of hap-piness. The founding fathers recognized that their rights had come from God, and that without God there would be no human rights. As we read through the Declaration of Independence we find that this great document does not begin with a recognition of God only to forget Him. The conclu-sion is a solid affirmation that there is no liberty or even hope of liberty without God, and the authors state their, “firm reliance on the protection of divine providence.” We can easily recall, too, that the motto of our country is stamped on all our coins: In God We Trust. Another word also appears on our coins and that word is “liberty,” it is no coinci-dence, for without God there is no liberty.
This 4th of July weekend and throughout our entire lives, we stand before God to profess before the whole world our belief that freedom is not the fruit of political adeptness or military power but the gift of God. “God who gave us life gave us liberty.” Indeed it is right that we give thanks and praise to God for this gift of freedom.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will hold its annual “Festa Italiana” on Thurs, Fri, Sat July 9th, 10th, 11th, from 6:00 pm to Midnight and Sunday July 12th, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the Church grounds at 92 South Lexington Avenue, White Plains , NY.
The “Festa Italiana” features live Italian and American music and entertainment, an outdoor dance floor, children’s games and entertainment, great Italian foods & desserts, American fare, espresso bar, air conditioned casino, and much more.
The admission and entertainment are free.
Please join the “Procession of the Statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel ” on Sunday, July 12th for a public procession of prayer to honor the Virgin Mary. Worshippers in the procession of our Patron Saint will assemble in front of the Church at 3:30 pm. The procession will begin at 4:00 pm followed by the celebration of Holy Mass at 5:00 pm.
