Emory Palliative Care Center
“End of life issues: What families, health care
providers and financial advisors need to know”
Dr. Tammie E. Quest is the Director of the Emory
Palliative Care Center for Emory’s Woodruff Health
Sciences Center (WHSC) and leads the Center in the
development of national and internationally recog-
nized clinical, education and research initiatives.
Her active research interests include palliative care
quality and assessment, spirituality and faith and their
role in complex decision making as well as cancer
symptom assessment and management in the emer-
gency setting.
Dr. Quest is an Associate Professor in the Department
of Emergency Medicine, and Division of Geriatrics
and Gerontology at the Emory University School of
Medicine and board certified in both Hospice and Pal-
liative Medicine and Emergency Medicine and main-
tains both practices.
She is a nationally recognized expert in palliative care
in the emergency setting.

Task Force for Global Health
"The Task Force for Global Health: Mobilizing
Partnerships for Impact"
Mark Rosenberg, M.D., M.P.P., is president and
chief executive officer of The Task Force for Global
Health in Decatur. As the fourth largest philanthropic
organization in the United States, The Task Force
works to improve health and wellbeing for the most
vulnerable people in the developing world.
The Task Force’s seven programs focus on controlling
and eliminating neglected tropical diseases (river blind-
ness, blinding trachoma, elephantiasis, and intestinal
worms); providing greater access to vaccines for polio,
influenza, cholera, and other deadly diseases; and
strengthening the capacity of health systems to respond
to disease outbreaks and use health information more
effectively. The Task Force works in 135 countries and
is supported by a diverse portfolio of funders that in-
cludes pharmaceutical companies, foundations, govern-
mental and non-governmental organizations. In 2015,
the Metro Atlanta Chamber recognized The Task Force
with a Global Impact Award.
Dr. Rosenberg is a member of several non-profit organ-
izations and academic institutions. He is board-certified
in both psychiatry and neurology and internal medicine
with training in public policy. He is married to Jill Ros-
enberg, and has two children and two grandchildren.

A New Member Orientation will be held Tuesday, June
9, 10:15 am prior to the luncheon meeting in the board
room of the Loudermilk. All new members, and those
who need a refresher course, are welcome to attend!
On Wednesday, June 17, tour and educational lunch
program at Shepherd Center. Each member may
invite a guest and up to two children or grandchildren
ages 15 or older. Tour begins at 11 am with lunch pro-
gram will be from Noon – 1 pm. Cost is $10 per person
which includes parking, lunch, and educational materi-
