To Begin…

First, I’ll give you a problem. Write it down on your blank paper and don’t do anything to it yet. Here’s your problem.

2/3 x 4/9= ?

How to solve your problem

Now that you have your problem take it and reduce, but wait there’s an easy way. You first, line the fractions up evenly so that the numerator is lined up with the numerator and the denominator is lined up with the denominator.

Page 4: First, I’ll give you a problem. Write it down on your blank paper and don’t do anything to it yet. Here’s your problem. 2/3 x 4/9= ?

Step 2 to solving your problem

Next you take your second fraction (The one closest to the right) and flip it to make it an improper fraction. So now 2/3 x 4/9 is now 2/3 x 9/4. After you do that, you reduce. You do this by dividing each fraction as shown.

Your New Fraction

Now that you have reduced your fractions what is your new equation??

1/1 x 3/2

The Answer

Now that you have reduced by dividing you know can multiply your new answer to get the real answer. So what’s the answer???

Did you get it?

The answer is… 3/2 or as a mixed number 11/2

So What did you learn?

Hope you were paying attention. Here’s your new problem. 5/6 ÷ 2½.

Page 9: First, I’ll give you a problem. Write it down on your blank paper and don’t do anything to it yet. Here’s your problem. 2/3 x 4/9= ?

Answer

1/3 So here’s how you do it you would first multiply it 5/6 x 2½ now reduce. But remember make 2½ an improper fraction. So 5/6 and 2/5 (Because remember you have to flip it around. So now it’s 1/3 and 1/1 Now multiply. 1/3.
