The CHT / Bezema jeans & garment magazine zip and BoTTom is a means of communication to provide customers and colleagues with interesting information on jeans. This edition shows new ideas and finishes with detailed descriptions and recipes. we try to follow current trends and try to pass possible solutions to our customers by means of this magazine. unfortunately, we are not able to offer all the finishes published so far worldwide. However, for offers from the two recent magazines you will get technical support any time for your production. please contact our colleagues on the spot or contact us at our headquarters in Tuebingen. Coming up with individual solutions is also one of our strong points.

The new trend of colours.

from west to east, from the americas to asia, the dyeing capacities for the field of garment are upgraded. more and more inquiries are sent to us ranging from the classic garment dye to the new effect dye.

nice and interesting is the desired range of colour variations for ready-made articles. There is a range from classic, clean dyeings to those rich in effects. The creative new developed dyeing procedures allow garment dye a huge diversity of finishes, as it has been known only on blue jeans until present, but not on colour fabric.

desde el oeste hacia el este, desde las americas hacia asia, en cualquier sitio las tintorerías aumentan su capacidad de producción en el sector de las prendas confeccionadas. recibimos un número creciente de demandas que se refieren al teñido clásico de la prenda o a la obtención de nuevos efectos de teñido.

Lo bonito e interesante es la variedad de teñidos que se desean realizar en las prendas confeccionadas, desde la obtención de colores auténticos, una apariencia limpia hasta colores ricos en efectos. Los nuevos procesos creativos de tintura permiten aplicar sobre las prendas una multitud de acabados, los cuales hasta ahora sólo se conocían de los Blue Jeans y no de los tejidos de color.

new colours and new colour effects demand new, creative dyeing procedures. although we certainly have not reached yet the end of the new trend of colours, the craziness of the dyeing methods is already astonishing:

• precationised and dyed with pigments, metal complex or acid dyes for wash-out and old-dye looks. also possible in one bath.

• discharge dyes. with chosen dyes of the range of direct or reactive dyes, for fade-out and used parts such as on blue denim.

• Totally new of CHT/Bezema, multicolour dyeings slush-made. made not with water but with a new gel system. Completely new colour effect with hardly any water. The machine remains clean! Super easy handling.

• Totally classic, clean, but with a very much reduced water consumption, in a shorter treatment time and with less energy. DENIMCOL DIS-MIP for sustainable dyeing procedures.

Garment dye is not a challenge for us, but our passion.

Blue denim presents itself in authentic washings. The set style is more and more the “worn” pair of jeans which means that jeans had been worn as greige jeans over a longer period of time, and if possible often in order to produce the most natural traces of use which one can get. They serve as standard for the industrial laundry: accomplished used effects with authentic colouring for the old look in combination with destroyed parts, patches and stitching. The aspect of naturally worn out jeans is thus imitated.

There is also the spray coating for gloss effects. a look having either an avantgardistic gloss or a greasy shine like old leather. as allover effect, afterwashed for a gloss with wash look, or even scraped for the combination of gloss and used look.

a second variation is the shiny effect in a transparent variation. Just a shimmer on the pure denim and nothing else. no distortion by any colouring, nothing leathery, only shiny denim. on dark denim or washed denim. The look is just extravagent.

• Tinturas multicolores “slush made”, una novedad absoluta de la CHT/Bezema. el agua se sustituye por un novedoso sistema de gel. Se logran efectos de colores totalmente nuevos, casi sin agua. La máquina permanece limpia y la manipulación es supersencilla.

• el DENIMCOL DIS-MIP para plantas de tintura que persigan una producción sostenible. producto para la tintura clásica, limpia, con un consumo mínimo de agua y energía y un tiempo de tratamiento más corto.

La tintura de prendas no es un desafío es nuestra pasión.

el Blue denim se presenta en lavados auténticos. el jean “usado”, o sea el pantalón crudo, llevado durante un tiempo prolongado, con las huellas naturales de uso, suele servir de modelo para las lavanderías industriales. efectos bien hechos de aspecto usado, con coloración auténtica, para una apariencia “envejecida” en combinación con zonas desgastadas, parches y stitchings. de esta manera se copian los jeans naturalmente envejecidos.

el Blue denim también se presenta con efectos de brillo aplicados por pulverización, sea de brillo vanguardista o con efecto de cuero envejecido y grasiento, sea brillante en toda la superficie, con lavado posterior para obtener un brillo con óptica de lavado, o todavía rascado para combinar los efectos de brillo con los efectos de desgaste.

otra variante son efectos de brillo transparentes. Sólo un efecto traslúcido en el denim puro, nada más. ninguna falsificación por la adición de colorantes, ningún efecto de aspecto cuero, nada más que un denim metalizado, tanto en material oscuro como lavado. La apariencia de los jeans es simplemente extravagante.

en la revista zip and BoTTom, edición iii, presentamos el “Garment Competence Centre” de Tübingen como la sede de la división de “Jeans & Garment” de la CHT/Bezema. Con su lavandería semi industrial, permite desarrollar muestras de artículos “básicos” y de “acabados especiales”.’muchas veces, la lavandería ha sido escenario de workshops con colegas, clientes o minoristas.

el sector de “Jeans & Garment” ha crecido rápidamente y sigue creciendo. in zip and BoTTom 3 we presented the Garment Competence Centre in Tuebingen as head office of the sector Jeans & Garment at CHT/Bezema with its sample laundry plant where developments of basics and special finishes can be realised in step with actual practice. Quite often it had been the scene of workshops with colleagues, customers and retailers.

Since then the sector of Jeans & Garment has always been growing. To share news in the field of auxiliaries and finishes Jeans & Garment offices were opened up worldwide at our production sites. you will find there specialised technicians and the necessary equipment providing you the service you are accustomed to, plus the occasion for an exchange of ideas (see GTw 2011, S.x).

more and more CHT/Bezema Garment centres with specialists on the spot and with their own laundries for research & development are established. The CHT/Bezema garment net has been cast over the whole globus.

even if many developments which come from the competence centre in Germany are spread by the CHT/Bezema network, many ideas for these developments come the other way round from our local garment teams to the competence centre in Germany. a strength which we fully show on the basis of the broad range of possibilities which CHT/Bezema offers in all textile fields.

producto auxiliar para la tintura de artículos de celulosa con un consumo reducido de agua y energía. es posible combinar los procesos de pretratamiento y de tintura manteniendo la buena reproducibilidad.

el DENIMCOL DIS-MIP es un producto auxiliar multifuncional para la tintura con colorantes directos y reactivos tanto sobre tejido crudo como sobre prendas de celulosa preparadas para la tintura. el producto tiene propiedades detergentes, secuestrantes, antiquiebres y de degradación de pectinas y, con ello, sustituye a 4 auxiliares de tintura a la vez.

it looks handmade, but it takes only 20 min in the washing machine.

Procedural principle of SLUSH DYE:a special dyeing recipe is prepared with DENIMCOL SPEC-FTL, smallest quantities of water and with BEZAKTIV P dyes allowing to fix the dye in the oven at high temperatures. after a short dwell time dyeing gel is formed which is completely soluble in water and easy to apply.

The viscosity of the dyeing gel can be easily modified and adapted to the substrate.

Light fabric = higher viscosityHeavy fabric = lower viscosity

The dry material is treated with the dyeing gel in the washing machine for 10 to 20 min depending on the desired distribution effect on the fabric.

without rinsing the dye is fixed by a hot drying in the oven at 120 up to 130 °C. There is only a very thin SLUSH layer (dyeing gel) on the fabric which has only little impact on the handling of the material concerning the transport to the oven. The fabric is just dried in the oven, and the fixing will be ready.

afterwards the fabric is briefly rinsed in the washing machine and soaped at 80 °C. a very high fastness level results.

The SLUSH dye is characterised by an irregular dyeing and most of all by the fact that deeper parts are not dyed, so that the typical seam pattern appears, and the contrasts at the pockets appear.

This seam and contrast effect gets a special cast if the garment had been pre-dyed, e.g. in a basic colour which corresponds to the later SLUSH dye colour, but which has less colour depth (see picture).

it is also possible to apply several dyeing gels in different colours to obtain a sort of camouflage effect (see picture).

Principio del proceso SLUSH DYE:Con DENIMCOL SPEC-FTL y mínimas cantidades de agua se prepara una receta especial de tintura con colorantes de la serie BEZAKTIV P que permite fijar el colorante mediante calor en la estufa. después de un corto tiempo de reposo se produce un gel de tintura totalmente soluble en agua y fácilmente procesable.

La viscosidad del gel se puede modificar y adaptar al sustrato fácilmente.

Tejido ligero = viscosidad elevadaTejido pesado = viscosidad baja

el tejido seco se trata con el gel de tintura en la lavadora durante 10 a 20 min. en función del efecto deseado de distribución sobre el tejido.

Sin enjuague, el colorante se fija con calor seco en la estufa desde 120 hasta 130 °C. La capa SLUSH (gel de tintura) sobre el tejido, es muy fina y casi no influye en la manipulación y transporte del tejido hasta la estufa. el tejido se seca en la estufa y la fijación ya está terminada.

a continuación el tejido se enjuaga brevemente en la lavadora y se jabona a 80 °C resultando excelentes solideces.

La tintura SLUSH se caracteriza por una coloración irregular y sobre todo por el hecho de que las zonas menos accesibles no se tiñen. de esta manera se producen las características costuras externas y de constraste en los bolsillos.

este efecto de costuras en contraste destaca en particular sobre prendas previamente teñidas con, por ejemplo, un color de fondo, que corresponde al color de la tintura posterior SLUSH, con la única diferencia que el colorido es menos intenso (ver la foto).

También es posible aplicar varios geles en diferentes colores para obtener un efecto tipo “Camouflage” (ver la foto).

Procedure:

1. Pre-dye the garment (optional), e.g. with TUBANTIN dyes

2. Preparation of SLUSH dye: Ratio of fabric weight to quantity of dyeing gel = 1 : 0.5 !!!

The quantity of dyeing gel corresponds to the whole water quantity of the SLUSH DYE. Example: Fabric weight: 10 kg = 5 l of

water = 5 l of dyeing gel

First the dyeing auxiliaries DENIMCOL XRN PEARLS and sodium hydrogen carbonate are preset and completely dissolved in half of the quantity of water. In the meantime the BEZAKTIV P dye is totally dissolved in the residual half of water at max. 60 °C, then urea is added.

Both liquors are mixed and 20 – 30 g/l of DENIMCOL SPEC-FLT are added. After about 10 – 20 min the gel is ready to use. In the next two hours there is no decrease of viscosity to expect.

3. Treat garments for 10 to 20 min4. Dry/fix in the oven5. Rinse6. Washing process (soaping). The washing

machine will be cleaned again by the rinsing and soaping process.

Proceso:

1. Tintura previa de la prenda (opcional), p.ej. con colorantes TUBANTIN

2. Preparación de la tintura SLUSH: Relación peso de tejido-cantidad de gel

de tintura = 1 : 0,5!!!

La cantidad de gel de tintura corresponde a la cantidad total de agua de la tintura SLUSH.

Ejemplo: Peso de tejido: 10 kg = 5 litros de agua = 5 litros de gel de tintura

Primero se preparan los auxiliares de tintura DENIMCOL XRN PEARLS y el bicarbonato sódico y se disuelven completamente en la mitad del agua. Mientras tanto el colorante BEZAKTIV P se disuelve en la otra mitad del agua a una temperatura máxima de 60 °C. Después se adiciona la urea.

Se mezclan los dos líquidos y se adicionan 20 – 30 g/l de DENIMCOL SPEC-FLT. Después de unos 10 a 20 min. el gel está listo para ser usado. La viscosidad se mantiene como mínimo durante 2 horas.

3. Tratar las prendas durante 10 a 20 min.4. Secar/fijar en la estufa5. Enjuagar6. Proceso de lavado (jabonar). La

maquinaria queda totalmente limpia después del proceso de enjuague y jabonado.

used effects rich in contrast are the secret of success of jeans as fashion garment. However the trend keeps demanding them also on multicoloured pieces of clothing. pigment dyeing became established in this field. The textile – usually out of cotton – gets a mordant treatment with a cationic polymer. The anionically finished pigment dye (liquid types) is thus given affinity to the fibre and it is absorbed by the piece of clothing. Binders fix the dye on the textile.There is a wide choice of precationising products on the market. although they are all cationic polymers each product has its specific chemical structure and requires or makes possible a special procedure.in the following we would like to present the top two products of CHT/Bezema for precationisation.

The strong oneDENIMCOL FIX-GF had been especially developed for the application in the precationisation for the pigment dyeing on drum washers. its advantages:• Strong dyeing of the fabric• very good bath exhaust• ideal for dark, intensive and brilliant dyeings

What do you have to keep in mind?DENIMCOL FIX-GF is applied out of an alkaline bath. every material absorbs a slightly different quantity of DENIMCOL FIX-GF. Just after precationisation a short rinsing bath should follow, so that the excess precationising agent cannot prevent the pigment from exhausting. The pigment is then added to the new bath, and the dyeing is carried out.

The universal oneDENIMCOL FIX-FSN is a true all-rounder. it can be applied in many fields and being low priced, DENIMCOL FIX-FSN is a good standard product for every dyehouse.its advantages:• no risk of precipitations with pigment dyes• ecological because applicable in one bath

el aspecto casual desgastado con efecto marcado de contraste, es el secreto del éxito de los jeans de moda. Las tendencias actuales de la moda piden estos efectos también en los jeans de colores. La tintura con pigmentos se ha establecido en este sector. el artículo textil, normalmente fabricado de algodón, se mordenta con un polímero catiónico otorgando al colorante pigmentario aniónico (marcas líquidas) afinidad para unirse a la fibra de forma que agota desde el baño a la superficie de la prenda. para la fijación del colorante en el textil se aplica un ligante. en el mercado hay una amplia selección de productos de precationizado.Cada producto tiene su específica composición y exige o permite un proceso adecuado aunque todos sean polímeros catiónicos. a continuación le presentamos los dos mejores productos de la CHT/Bezema.

¿Qué se debe considerar?el DENIMCOL FIX-GF se aplica desde el baño alcalino. La cantidad de DENIMCOL FIX-GF absorbida depende del tipo de tejido tratado. después del proceso de precationizado se recomienda efectuar un breve enjuague para eliminar posibles restos del producto de precationizado que pueden impedir el agotamiento del colorante pigmentario desde el baño. después del enjuague, se adiciona el pigmento al baño nuevo y se tiñe.

El producto universalel DENIMCOL FIX-FSN es un producto para todo. es muy adecuado para muchos campos de aplicación y favorable en precio. por tanto, se puede utilizar como producto estándar en cualquier tintorería.ventajas:• no es necesario ajustar el valor pH• no se deben temer precipitados con

What do you have to keep in mind?DENIMCOL FIX-FSN is based on a very small molecule which makes it impossible to form agglomerations with pigment dyes which might form stains on the garments. it is possible to do the dyeing with pigments right after the precationisation without changing the bath. applied without separate pH adjustment, the product is very effective and gives a good colour yield.

due to the rest of cationic pretreatment agent in the bath a cationic binder like DENIMCOL BINDER RE-NEU has to be applied for fixing to avoid precipitations.

¿Qué se debe considerar?el DENIMCOL FIX-FSN está basado en una molécula muy pequeña que prácticamente no permite la formación de aglomerados con pigmentos que puedan causar manchas en la prenda. es posible hacer la tintura con pigmentos directamente después del precationizado sin cambiar el baño. el producto es muy efectivo y provee un buen rendimiento de tintura sin ajuste separado del valor de pH.

Los restos del producto de pretratamiento catiónico obligan a emplear también un ligante catiónico para la fijación como, por ejemplo, el DENIMCOL BINDER RE-NEU. de esta forma se evitan precipitados.

The new generation of reactive or direct dyes makes possible the creation of most different bleaching effects and highest fastnesses on dyed articles.

Used look on conventional dyeings with reactive or direct dyes.

The most stunning feature is that a bleaching up to white can be realised without any unwanted colour shade change with potassium permanganate or sodium hypochlorite.

discharge is the chemical process for removing the colour from already dyed articles. a specifically tested and selected range of dyes is put at disposal because not all dyes can be bleached in the same way.

TinTura Con La Gama de CoLoranTeS CorroiBLeSSi bien es cierto que se pueda obtener un bonito efecto de delavado con una tintura con colorantes pigmentarios pero el malo nivel de solideces es evidente.

La nueva generacíon de los colorantes directos y reactivos facilita la obtención de diferentes efectos de blanqueo y máximas solideces sobre artículos tintados.

Aspecto usado en tinturas convencionales con colorantes reactivos y directos.

Lo mejor es que tanto con el permanganato de potasio como con el hipoclorito de sodio se puede blanquear hasta alcanzar un blanco sin que el color cambie sin querer.

La corrosión es el proceso químico para eliminar el color de artículos teñidos. ofrecemos una selección de colorantes especialmente examinados ya que no es posible blanquear todos los colorantes del mismo modo.

The collection has to be prepared, and you dread it. who does not know this feeling? you have to choose between the most different chemical products for the most diverse finish developments. Conclusion: it costs a lot and takes time.

is it not much more comfortable and cheaper to use only “one product” for different applications? no matter if a vintage look glimmering new, a coloured spray coating with a gloss effect or some new shimmering local old leather effects out of the same dna are demanded. it is incredible, but true.

amBer, CLoudy SHine, SmoKy and muLo finish, all three of them have the same finger print and belong to the DENIMCOL SPEC-MGP family. The product can be applied coloured or transparent. Just like on old leather the gloss effect is increased, the longer you wear it (wash & wear process).

The effect creates the ultimate cracking look, just without any mechanical treatment.

The crack effect produces smallest breaks and gaps providing a classy, modern and at any rate an astonishing look on the fabric surface.

a special washing treatment or abrasive method increases the gloss effect and makes the effect look irregular, smoky and glimmering like an ageing and ripping lacquer paint.

eSpeCiaLLUSTER FINISHel LuSTer finiSH no es un acabado fuerte como los marcados efectos de brillo conocidos hasta ahora. es un proceso en el que no se utiliza presión. el acabado casi no influye en el tacto de la prenda y, si se desea, el tacto se puede modificar mediante un tratamiento separado con suavizante. el LuSTer finiSH no se recomienda para la obtención de efectos de brillo intenso. Con este acabado se obtiene un brillo discreto, fino, pero muy eficaz que aporta suaves reflejos traslúcidos sobre la superficie de la prenda. el efecto es resistente al lavado y cuando más se usa la prenda el efecto se vuelve más intenso.
