A special treat for all ages is the mini-chuck wagon races that will be held at the rodeo grounds, followed by a Taste of Eastend and fi-nally a cabaret and dance. Regina stoRm chaseR helps toRnado victims in vilo-nia, aRk.cbc.ca -it looked like “an atomic bomb” went off in arkansas sunday night, says Regina storm chaser greg Johnson, who spent the night in a town devastated by a killer tornado. Johnson and Ricky Forbes, who is also from saskatchewan, headed down to the area last week and were near the town of vilonia sunday night when the deadly tornado struck. at least 16 people were killed. “it was an incredible and tragic ex-perience,” Johnson said. “it looked like an atomic bomb went off.” Johnson, a photographer and writer who creates books about his storm-chasing experiences, said his team immediately went into first-re-sponder mode, trying to help people emerging from the wreckage.
he told cBc morning edition host sheila coles he parked in a residen-tial area where he saw a steady stream of people walking away from their ruined homes, some apparently with broken limbs, others impaled by piec-es of debris. “it was an unbelievable, surreal ex-perience,” Johnson said. “definitely a worst-case scenario on these small communities.” Johnson said among the people he helped was a father of three young girls who had a cut arm that needed treatment. The man told him that his house had been destroyed. he and his girls hid in a bathtub and somehow sur-vived as things fell to pieces all around them. When the tornado had passed, the bathtub was about 30 metres away from where the house had been, Johnson said.

A man who had come out of a complicated abdominal surgery was complaining of
having a bump on his head and a terrible headache. The nurse, fearing that the man
might be suffering from some post operative shock, spoke to the surgeon about
it. The doctor assured the nurse, “don’t worry about a thing. He really does have a bump on his head. About halfway into the
operation we ran out of anesthetic.”

On this day in 2011, Great Britain’s Prince William mar-ries his longtime girlfriend Catherine Elizabeth “Kate” Mid-dleton at Westminster Abbey in London. Some 1,900 guests attended the ceremony, while another 1 million spectators lined the streets of London and an estimated 2 billion people around the world watched on television. The 29-year-old bride and 28-year-old groom, second in line (behind his father) to the throne, met in 2001 as students at the university of St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Middleton, the eldest of three children, was raised in the English village of Bucklebury. Her parents, former flight attendants, became millionaires running a successful party-supply business. Middleton majored in art history at St. Andrews and went on to do a stint as an accessories buyer for a British clothing chain. Prince William, the elder of two sons born to Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales, embarked on a military career after college, eventually becoming a helicop-ter search-and-rescue pilot with the Royal Air Force (RAF). His parent’s lavish 1981 wedding was a media sensation witnessed by a global television estimated as high as 750 million; however, in December 1992, it was announced the couple was separating. The couple, who publicly admitted to infidelities during their marriage, officially divorced in 1996. Diana died in a car crash in Paris the following year. After dating for eight years, William and Kate became engaged in October 2010 while vacationing in Kenya, Africa. Their engagement was publicly announced the following month, on November 16, ending years of media speculation about whether they ever would tie the knot—and immedi-ately kicking off a new wave of speculation about the wed-ding details, including the guest list and the bride’s dress. At their Friday morning marriage cere-mony on April 29, the bride wore a gown designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, a British fashion house, while the groom donned the scarlet tunic of an Irish Guards officer. Middleton’s younger sister, Pippa, served as maid of honor, while William’s brother, Prince Harry, was best man. The nuptials were presided over by the archbishop of Canterbury, with world lead-ers and celebrities including Elton John and David and Victoria Beckham in attendance. After the ceremony, the newlyweds kissed twice on a Buckingham Palace balcony before hundreds of thousands of cheering fans. Overhead, RAF planes made a ceremo-nial flyby. An afternoon reception at the palace presided over by Queen Elizabeth for some 650 guests followed, and that evening, Prince Charles hosted a dinner dance at the palace for 300 people. The couple, who once married became the duke and duchess of Cambridge, hon-eymooned in the Seychelles, before returning to Wales, where William resumed his duties as a helicopter pilot. On July 22, 2013, the duchess gave birth to the couple’s first child, George, who is third in line to the throne.

Joe had asked Bob to help him out with the deck after work, so Bob just went straight over to Joe’s place. When they got to the door, Joe went straight to his wife, gave her a hug and told her how beautiful she was and how much he had missed her at work. When it was time for supper, he complimented his wife on her cooking, kissed her and told her how much he loved her.Once they were working on the deck, Bob told Joe that he was surprised that he fussed so much over his wife. Joe said that he’d started this about six months ago, it had revived their marriage, and things couldn’t be better. Bob thought he’d give it a go. When he got home, he gave his wife a massive hug, kissed her and told her that he loved her. His wife burst into tears.Bob was confused and asked why she was crying. She said, “This is the worst day of my life. First, little Billy fell off his bike and twisted his ankle. Then, the washing machine broke and flooded the basement. And now, you come home drunk!”
After just a few years of marriage filled with constant arguments, a young man and his wife decided the only way to save their marriage was to try counseling. They had been at each other’s throat for some time and felt that this was their last straw. When they arrived at the counselor’s office, the counselor jumped right in and opened the floor for discussion.” What seems to be the problem?” Immediately, the husband held his long face down without anything to say. On the other hand, the wife began talking 90 miles an hour describing all the wrongs within their marriage. After 5 - - 10 - - 15 minutes of listening to the wife, the counselor went over to her, picked her up by her shoulders, kissed her passionately for several minutes and sat her back down. Afterwards, the wife sat there speechless. He looked over at the husband who was staring in disbelief at what had happened. The counselor spoke to the husband, “Your wife NEEDS that at least twice a week! “The husband scratched his head and replied, “I can have her here every Tuesday and Thursday.”

REWaRd FOR MusIC stOlEn FROM JEFFERy stRaKER’s REGIna HOMEcbc.ca - Jeffrey Straker is asking anyone with information about his stolen laptop to contact him. Jeffery Straker says he was sick to his stomach when he returned home to a front door that was forced open revealing a house emptied of many of his electronic gadgets. Among the missing items were his laptop and backup hard drive, containing 55 new songs he was still working on. “It’s like probably the most important work I’ve created as an artist is now in someone else’s hands,” Straker said Satur-day. “I can’t put a value on it.” The loss is a nightmare, he added. Straker said he’s had a particularly cre-ative year, and has worked alongside and collaborated with many musicians across the country. He said what’s missing could account for thousands of hours of his work,
though he’s not sure it could be of any use to a thief. “The only person that it’s really useful to at this point is me, there’s nothing else on that thing that’s useful to anybody. So for that reason, I’d really love to get it back. I’m really the only one who can do anything with that content,” he said.
REWaRd dEtaIls The musician initially offered a $500 re-ward to anyone who can return his laptop and hard drive to him, but that number quickly rose. Straker told CBC Sunday a fan from Prince Albert reached out and of-fered to match his reward, adding another $500. By Monday morning, more fans had pitched in and the total reward had reached $3,000. He’s hoping if anyone has more informa-tion, they will send an email to [email protected].
