So, if you were gone this summer, you can stop by on Wednesday, October 20th from 6 to 8 pm in the Whittaker Road Story Time Room. The room has some great acoustics! Other events during our monthly TAG

meetings include making marble magnets for your locker in September and constructing gingerbread houses in November. Plus, if you haven’t met new teen librarian Amelia, now’s your chance. New members with ideas and suggestions are always welcome. Deb and Amelia are making an impact on the teen area at Whittaker. Come visit us at Whittaker Road and see what we’ve done already. For the rest of the year, you can enter your name into a drawing for some free books. The choices will change, so visit and enter often.

On July 17, Michigan TAG members Kaiel, Kevin, Shawn, Walter, Terrance, and Michael boarded a bus from Michigan Avenue and helped at the Superior Field Day. We got inside and met everyone and put on nametags. Soon the kids started coming in and we got the events set up. The events were an obstacle course, water balloons, hula hoops, three-legged race, piñatas, limbo and stuff of that sort. After the events, the winners received ribbons and we went home after a hard day’s work. ~~ Kaiel Grimes

Officer Elections were held for Michigan Avenue TAG. Congratulations to everyone who has assumed a leadership role: Walter McAdam — President Kevin Joseph — Vice President Dontrell Heard — Anime and Gaming D’Von Coates — Yu Gi Oh Michael McAdam — Movies Kaiel Grimes — Design

Other things we’re working on include designing a TAG t-shirt and creating a video promoting the library’s anime and manga activities and collection. Be sure to fan the Ypsilanti District Library Teens page to keep updated!
