The success of last week’s Christmas BBQ is testament to Yarra Bend Rotary’s continued commitment to innovation and willingness to try something new. Partnering with such an important community service as Servant’s Community Housing to jointly celebrate our blessings not only humbled us, it reminded us of how much we are to be thankful for.

In addition to a large club representation we were joined by the ever supportive AG Gabe, honorary members Philip and Dick, one of our dearest friends Liz, our long term Indonesian visitor Helen and cluster support with President George from Kew adding his boundless energy to the event.

As the night progressed I heard comments such as, “this is the best Rotary Christmas party I’ve been to”, “what a great idea” and “I’m glad we changed our

party this year”. Additionally, Matt from Servants remarked how holding the event in the car park was a first. Matt and I are very keen to see this become an annual event with perhaps seeking support from cluster clubs too.

Thanks to member contribution, Anne and I will be presenting a Christmas gift to each resident this coming Wednesday on behalf of the club- thank you so much for your generosity.

With the festive season well and truly upon us I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and fulfilling 2016. If you are traveling please stay safe and I look forward to working together for what I’m sure will be an action packed 2016 for Yarra Bend Rotary.

There will be no Yarra Bend Rotary Club meetings on the 23 and 30 December, nor 6,13 and 20 January.

There is a cluster BBQ on 12 January and, during w/c 18 January we encourage members to attend the meeting of another club, it is called a scatter meeting.

Yarra Bends first regular club meeting will be 27 January.
