15010 CYLINDER GAS MANIFOLDS
A. Cylinder gas manifolds for nitrogen and carbon dioxide shall be Air Gas Y11-CP Series, Spectra Gases Model BI Series or approved equal. B. The unit shall be equipped to reduce gas cylinder pressure to 60 psig (adjustable) for delivery to distribution system. Unit to provide connections for supply cylinders and reserve cylinders and shall have automatic switchover to reserve upon sensing low pressure from main supply side with alarm for local and remote notification of switch over.

1. EACH VALVE TYPE SHALL BE THE PRODUCT OF A SINGLE MANUFACTURER. EACH SYSTEM SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH VALVES AS REQUIRED BY CODE AND SHOWN ON THE DWGS. AND SHALL BE INSTALLED TO FACILITATE OPERATION, REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR.

6. VALVES ON INSULATED PIPING SYSTEMS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH EXTENDED HANDLES TO ACCOMMODATE INSULATION THICKNESS.

15080 TRAPS AND STRAINERS
A. Traps
1. Provide separate traps with integral cleanouts on fixtures and equipment that require connections to sanitary system, except: a. On fixtures with integral traps, and as shown on Drawings otherwise. 2. Traps exposed to view, including connecting drain lines, shall be chrome-plated. Traps shall be of sizes shown on Drawings, but shall not be less than 1-1/2". 3. Traps at emergency shower floor drains shall not have trap primers. Install trap guard in

15080 FIRE PROTECTION VALVES
A. Valves shall be of materials and weights required by NFPA standards.

A. Provide bronze Bourdon tube pressure gauges by U.S. Gauge, Trerice, or Weksler,
1. Gauges shall have white faces with black-filled engraved lettering. Gauge bodies shall be set in phenolic cases. Provide pulsation dampers and gauge cocks to isolate each gauge.
2. Gauges shall be easily accessible and easily read. Gauges readable from floor
at less than five feet shall have 4" dials. Other gauges shall have 6" dials. Gauges graduations shall meet limit requirements of normal operation. Gauges shall indicate at mid-scale.
3. Provide pressure gauges at the inlet and outlet of each pump.
4. Provide pressure gauges at each water entrance, downstream of the water
meter, and on each side of PRV stations.
B. Provide separable well V-case thermometers by U.S. Gauge, Trerice, or Weksler where shown on Drawings and where specified. 15170 WATER METER
A. Provide 3" turbine water meter that meets AWWA C701-70 requirements for cold water
meter. Meter shall be by Rockwell, Hersey or Neptune Products and shall be approved by local water and sewer authority.
B. Registers shall be straight reading, hermetically-sealed calibrated in cubic feet and shall
meet Section 9.3 of AWWA Standard requirements. Provide center swept test hands.
C. Meter shall register at least 98% and no more than 102% of water actually passing through meter at any rate of flow, within range of 5 gpm to 450 gpm.
D. Main casing shall be bronze. Bolts shall be stainless steel.

15423 CLEANOUTS
A. Provide cleanouts in soil, waste and storm drainage piping on straight runs at changes in
directions and at foot of stacks and other points where required by inspecting authorities. Cleanouts shall suit construction in which they are to be installed.
B. Maximum horizontal distance on straight runs between cleanouts in piping 4" and smaller
shall be 50 feet. In piping 5" and larger, maximum horizontal distance between cleanouts shall be 100 feet.
C. Cleanouts shall be same size as pipe 4" and smaller. Cleanouts for piping larger than 4"
shall be not less than 4" in diameter. No reduction in cleanout sizes for pipe 4" and smaller is permitted.
D. Bodies of cleanout ferrules in bell and spigot piping shall be standard pipe sizes
conforming in thickness to that required for pipe and fittings, and shall extend not less than 3/4" above hub of pipe.

15450 WALL HYDRANTS AND HOSE BIBBS
A. Provide wall hydrants as shown on the drawings. Provide hose bibbs in every toilet core.
B. Wall hydrant shall be recessed box anti-siphon, non-freeze, key-operated, 3/4". Hydrant
shall be Zurn Z-1300; J.R. Smith Fig. No. 5509; Josam series 71000. Coordinate cover and plate finish, with Architect, prior to ordering any units.
C. Hose bibb shall be chrome plated bronze or brass with replaceable hexagonal disc, hose
thread spout and integral vacuum breaker in conformance to ANSI/ASSE 1011. Hose bibb shall be equal to Chicago No. 952, T&S Brass No. B-720 with removable tee handle.

15450 WATER HAMMER ARRESTORS
A. Provide water hammer arrestors at fixtures with automatic solenoid or cylinder operated
valves, automatic flush valves quick-closing valves, or solenoid valves. Water hammer arrestors shall be J.R. Smith series 5000, Zurn series 1700 or Josam series 75000.
B. Fixtures and equipment in battery installation may use single water hammer arrestor
properly sized for connected load.
C. Provide proper access to water hammer arrestors in chases, utilizing a minimum 12" x 12" access panel furnished and installed by this contractor.
D. Provide ball valve beneath each water hammer arrestor.

15730 STEAM-TO-WATER INSTANTANEOUS DUAL WATER HEATER
A. Provide steam to water instantaneous dual water heaters, rated as shown on the
Drawings. Control outlet shall be wita few percent to 100% rated capacity and capable of depressing the set temperature 5° F or more for flows below this range. Acceptable manufacturer shall be Leslie Constantemp steam water heater complete with jacketed insulation cover and the recirculation package (no substitutes).
B. Provide complete pre-piped steam water heater with ductile iron shell; copper coils,
ASME "U" stamp, differential sensing head, piping, pressure gauges, cover, check valve, three-way thermostatic valve, balancing valve and steel skid.
C. Provide thermometers on hot and cold water connections of the unit.
D. Provide pressure gauges on steam supply to the heater and on both side of the
recirculating pump.
