attend the Pennsylvania Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (PASCD) 64th Annual Conference in Hershey.

14. Right to Know Request submitted for a copy of the Ready to Learn Grant Application filed

with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. 15. Notification by Robert Pace of Pace Transportation, along with Angelo Falzone, Director of

Transportation, that by rearranging some bus routes they have saved the district $200.00 a day, which equates a savings of approximately $40,000.00 a year.

16. Len Galli of Galli’s Fighting Chance School of Self Defense, extending his appreciation to the

School Board for allowing him the use of the gymnasium for a tournament. 17. Leandra Hosey, President of the Wyoming Area Swim/Dive Team Parents Association,

requesting permission to hang banners/signs in the pool area. 18. Linda Hurwitz, Speech Language Pathologist, requesting permission to take a medical

sabbatical leave. 19. Mary Paglianite of Spotlight Dance Studio, requesting permission to rent the auditorium for

a Christmas recital. 20. Jean Marie Radle, Vice President of the Wyoming Area Cheerleading Parents Association,

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

1. The Center for Schools and Communities, a division of the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit has reviewed and approved a $750.00 grant for our district. This grant can be used for the purchase of computer equipment, 1 year of internet service, or related software to improve our direct certification process. Congratulations to Melissa Collevechio.

2. Tenth Street Elementary conducted a Roll Out Presentation of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. This is a world-wide, research based program, designed to reduce incidents of Bullying in our schools. The focus is on identifying Bullying Behaviors and using immediate interventions and proactive class meetings to support students. Tenth Street is the second building in Wyoming Area to roll out the program.

3. Jasmine Brooks from WBRE broadcasted live from WA from 5-7am on October 17th to promote homecoming activities and also our Celebrate My Drive campaign in which we partnered with State Farm Insurance

4. Jason Harlen, Director of Wyoming Valley Alcohol and Drug Services, Inc. held an informational program for parents.

5. At the Dallas/WA football game, the football team and coaches helped to celebrate a Dallas special needs student fulfill his dream by scoring a touchdown. This made ABC National News and Good Morning America.

6. Mr. Quaglia met with Bob Truscavage and John Bonin regarding their establishing a Foundation. Meetings will be regularly scheduled.

7. We held the initial meeting of WA CAN (Wyoming Area Career/Alumni Network). Those in attendance were given a copy of the job listing identified in the 16 Career Clusters from PDE to use as a starting point from where to begin to build our network.

8. The Wyoming Rotary Club came into all our elementary schools to give out new dictionaries to all of our 3rd grade students. We would like to thank the Rotary Club for their continued generosity in doing this for our students each year.

Education Report

1. Reporting as per Federal Regulations Requirement that the District’s Federal Programs (Title I, Title II, and Drugs and Alcohol) have been planned for the 2014-2015 school year. 2. Approve the revised professional substitute list for the 2014-2015 school year. 3. Approve the appointment of Paula Cecil as SAT Math Instructor at a salary of $30.00 per hour

for the 2014-2015 school year. 4. Approve the appointment of Carmen Latona as SAT Verbal Instructor at a salary of $30.00 per

hour for the 2014-2015 school year. 5. Approve the request of Christine Rosenkrans, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, to

attend the Pennsylvania Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (PASCD) 64th Annual Conference in Hershey from Sunday, November 23rd to Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Costs of $680.34 to be funded from Title II funds.

6. Approve the request of Linda Hurwitz, Speech Language Pathologist, to take a medical

sabbatical leave for the second half of the 2014-2015 school year. 7. Approve the request of Jennifer Judge, Third Grade Teacher at SJD Elementary School

2. Approve the request of Nancy Alberigi, Wyoming Area Ice Hockey Parents Association, to

use the Secondary Center cafeteria for “Meet the Warriors” on Sunday, November 2, 2014, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., pending approval by the building principal and food service director. (Class A)

3. Accept, with regret, Ken Radle’s letter of resignation as part time cleaning employee

retroactive to October 14, 2014. Mr. Radle is requesting to remain on the substitute list. 4. Approve the request of Leandra Hosey, Wyoming Area Swim/Dive Team Parents Association,

to use the Secondary Center cafeteria for “Meet the Swim/Dive Team and Coaches” on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, 6:30 p.m., pending approval by the building principal and food service director. (Class A)

5. Approve the request of Luanne Stach, Wyoming Area Senior Parents Association, to use the

Secondary Center cafeteria and kitchen for a pasta dinner and craft show on Sunday, December 14, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., pending approval by the building principal and food service director. A fee will be charged to the organization for a cafeteria worker to be present in the kitchen. (Class A)

6. Approve the request of Juel Anne Klepadlo, Key Club Advisor, for the Wyoming Area Key

Club to sponsor a blood drive with Geisinger in the Secondary Center multipurpose room on Friday, November 21, 2014, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., pending approval by the building principal and athletic director. (Class A)

7. Approve the request of Jennifer Heck, Wyoming Area Wrestling Parents Association, to use

the Secondary Center gym, hallway and concession stand for elementary wrestling meets on Sunday, December 21, 2014 and Sunday, January 4, 2015, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., pending approval by the building principal and athletic director. (Class A)

Building Report 8. Approve the request of Mary Paglianite of Spotlight Dance Studio, to rent the auditorium at

$500.00 for a Christmas Recital on Saturday, December 20, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., pending approval by the building principal. A fee of $25.00 per hour will be charged for a custodian’s services if needed. (Class D)

9. Approve the request of Stephen Chipolis, Custodian, to take a medical leave of absence

effective November 7, 2014 until further notice. 10. Approve the appointment of __________________ as a part time (10 month) cleaning
