In December 2001 Ian Xuereb,a Maltese mountaineer, set offto fulll a personal dream andclimb the snowy peaks at CampoPericoli, Gran Sasso in Italy.

But overnight his lifelong dreamturned into a life threateningnightmare when a blizzard

trapped him at an altitude of2,900m with no visibility, galeforce winds reaching 170km/hrand temperatures as low as -28c

On his return the media claimedhe got lost whilst mountaineeringbut today Ian explains whatreally happened !
