Press Release The theme for this year’s World Tourism Day is ‘Tourism and Community Development’ and a Heritage Walk in Ghat Ki Guni would be an ideal way to spread awareness and sensitivity within the community towards the local heritage, in order to promote, activate and revitalise the Ghat ki Guni area. The Heritage Walk of Ghat Ki Guni, organized jointly by Department of Tourism and Department of Archaeology & Museums, GoR; Dronah Foundation; Indian Heritage Cities Network Foundation (IHCN-F)Rajasthan Chapter; Indian National Trust For Art & Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Jaipur Chapter and Jaipur Virasat Foundation at Ghat Ki Guni, is a one day outreach programme for the launch and promotion of the restored architectural heritage ensembled within the 52 properties in the entire stretch of Ghat Ki Guni. This one day programme will encompass heritage walk & community participation to make the citizens of Ghat Ki Guni, Jaipur aware of the rich heritage of the area; competition for school children & students of architecture and photography competition to frame Ghat Ki Guni’s tangible as well as natural heritage. The Heritage walk will be inaugurated by Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, GoR at 8:00 AM at Roop Niwas Bagh, Parking, Ghat ki Guni and then the walk will be initiated with Ghat ki Guni custodians and community, Government Representatives and Guests, School children, Students of Architecture & other participants ending at Sisodia Rani ka Bagh. An exhibition on Ghat ki Guni Restoration Project and other interpretation panels will also be put up at Pila Mahal during the walk for awareness and dissemination of the conservation efforts. The post walk session will involve community interaction with local people in the area to know about their views and aspirations about the restoration of Ghat ki Guni and promoting the same for Tourism, while involving the local community for tourist activities. Along with this there is Poster making competition for School children of 5 th to 8 th std. and 1
