What’s On This Week

Proclaiming Jesus as Lord on the hills and in the valleys to build a community of faith, hope & love

18th June 2017 - 2nd Sunday after Pentecost

Rector’s Ramblings

This weekend, I and several representatives from the Parish will participate in the gathering of our Anglican Church known as Synod. Some of you may be very familiar with this event, but for many they not be aware of exactly what goes on.

These gatherings draw together Christians representing the various Parishes in our Diocese to discuss issues of significance outside the parish gambit and in some cases feeding into discussion at a national level on church policy and procedures.

At this Synod, we welcome the commissioning of our two new Archdeacons, Stuart Webb and Matthew Jones, who will play an important role in supporting our Bishop and dealing with many of the issues at a regional level. We are very fortunate to have Stuart in this role in the south as he brings a vision for growing the kingdom and looking to the future of our Anglican community. As the Mission Support Officer, I will be working closely with Stuart to promote this vision across the south.

This Synod also signals the change to Bishop in Council representation by MSOs and it is my intention not to seek independent appointment to this body but rather focus on this southern regional development.

Please pray for us and that a clear vision from the Lord as to

our way forward is revealed.

Blessings, Ross
