Synchronizing your file keeps your data and media up to date on multiple devices, provided they are connected on the same Wi-Fi network. Since the file format is compatible, you can synchronize your data with any other Windows PCs, Mac or mobile iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) on which Heredis has been installed. Unlike a backup, the Sync function allows you to transfer only the data changed since the previous synchronization. How to synchronize a file? After installing Heredis Blue Suite, you may exchange data between your various devices, on two conditions: Heredis must be open on all devices to be synchronized. The genealogy file must be open on the device from which you synchronize. Devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Please note that it is not enough for your iPhone or iPad to be connected by wire to the Mac or PC, for you must have the Wi-Fi enabled. It should be noted that you do not have to create genealogy file on the destination device. The first synchronization will do this. The first synchronization takes longer because it copies entirely all your genealogy data and all media associated with the file. Subsequent synchronizations are much faster because only changes made since the last synchronization are trans- ferred to the destination device. Example of use of synchronization between two computers: 1/ You are working on your main computer at home and you have installed Heredis Blue for Windows. Your file contains 2760 individuals and 153 media. 2/ You have a laptop that you take with you when you travel. You have also installed Heredis Blue for Windows on this machine because your Heredis license allows it. 3/ Launch your first synchronization.

Know more about synchronization

What is synchronization? Synchronizing your file keeps your data and media up to date on multiple devices, provided they are connected on the same Wi-Fi network. Since the file format is compatible, you can synchronize your data with any other Windows PCs, Mac or mobile iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) on which Heredis has been installed. Unlike a backup, the Sync function allows you to transfer only the data changed since the previous synchronization. How to synchronize a file? After installing Heredis Blue Suite, you may exchange data between your various devices, on two conditions: • Heredismustbeopenonalldevicestobesynchronized. • Thegenealogyfilemustbeopenonthedevicefromwhichyousynchronize. • DevicesmustbeconnectedtothesameWi-FiorEthernet.PleasenotethatitisnotenoughforyouriPhoneor iPad to be connected by wire to the Mac or PC, for you must have the Wi-Fi enabled. Your main computer is updated.

Important Information: a Wi-Fi connection is required to use the Synchronization function.

If you do not have a Wi-Fi network or if your network is down, you can still exchange data between your various devices but it is a complete transfer of data.
