What is Start Well?
(previously known as Sure Start Children's Centres)
From the 1st September 2016, five of the borough’s existing Children's Centres officially
launched as Start Well Family Centres offering better and more tailored services for families
within Wigan’s communities.
Westfield has been allocated as one of the five centres, with Orrell and Hope as ‘linked sites’.
The Start Well Plan will see that activities will be delivered from previous children’s centre
buildings, as well as other places within the local community.
Wigan Council is hoping that these changes will ensure that all children have the same
opportunity to reach their full potential.
If you would like to know more about the Start Well offer, please contact 01942 776007 option 2
and speak to a member of the team.
