Cloudy Day
Welcome Song: Are you listening?
Are you listening?
Yes I am! Yes I am!
Now it’s time for Story Time,
Now it’s time for Story Time,
Yes it is! Yes it is!
At Home Experiment:
What You Will Need: Glass Jar Match or Hairspray Warm water Ice cubes Pour warm tap water into a jar, throw in a match or spray hairspray into the jar. Place the lid upside down on top of the jar and place several ice cubes. Watch your cloud form! The science from PlaydoughtoPlato.com: “In this demonstration you added water vapor to the jar by using warm water. The smoke or hairspray acted as the cloud seed. When you added the ice filled lid on top you cooled the warm air causing it to condense on the surface of the cloud seed particles, forming a cloud!”

Why do libraries care about
STEM education?
Especially in Story Times?
STEM education is a
movement toward getting
children EXCITED about
science and technology.
Statistics have shown that
children who are
enthusiastic about
learning STEM are
better prepared for school
stick to learning objectives
easier
