Wem Town HallSpring 2013

Hello and WelcomeThis spring has much in store for WTH. In February we will screen the !rst of a season of live opera broadcast direct from the Royal Opera House, London. We will also be the only venue in the West Midlands to be screening the Berliner Philharmoniker live from Germany in March. Added to screenings live from the National Theatre and another ballet from the Royal Opera House, the next few months have lots to excite you. Please see Big Screen Events for more information.

Live performance highlights over the next few months include the stunning Sonia Sabri who will delight us with her display of Indian dance known as Kathak, one of the most exhilarating dance experiences to be had. Why not join us for tasty authentic Indian Cuisine before the show? Blues band Stomp and Holler join us in February, and we have a wonderful rock ‘n’ roll musical for kids and grown-ups in April.

pART Of WemThursday 10th January – Tuesday 19th FebruaryMonday – Saturday 10am-4pmAn ambitious undertaking and initiative of local artist Sarah Evans, “pART of Wem” was designed to bring people together to create one large scale artwork, but whilst everyone worked on their own individual designs no one knew what overall image would be revealed. Over 200 people have been involved in the creative community project including professional artists, adults, young people, children and even babies! Each panel tells its own story and showcases the talents of local people. This large-scale work should be appreciated "rst hand and visitors can also enjoy a related exhibition, explain how the project came together.
