If you love dancing why not bust a move and hold your very own dance fundraiser for Red Nose Day ’15? This kit contains all the tools you need.

All the money raised will help people living incredibly tough lives in the UK and across Africa. So, grab friends, family and colleagues, party at home, shimmy round the sofa, or shake it at work!

Whatever you do, this kit is designed to give you all the hints and tips you need to put on your event, raise lots and dance your heart out.

Dancing to help change lives

The money you raise will help people living tough lives in the UK and across Africa. For example, £60 could buy a set of crutches for a child with a disability in Zambia so they can get to and from school.

We’ve got two very easy ways for you to join in the fun and get fundraising.

1 Invite everyone – whether they’re dance divas or have two left feet, you could even get granny and grandpa to cheer you on. The more people you invite, the more you’ll raise.

2 Decide your theme/dress code – it could be disco, legwarmers, fancy dress, glitter, feather boas and of course your best Red Nose Day T-shirt or onesie.

3 Hang up your event poster – it's at the back of this kit and you can use it to let everyone know about your dance challenge.

4 Use social media – tell people about your Giving Page and share your dance moments on your social media accounts #RND15.

5 Get sponsored – check out our tips on the next page to help you raise loads. Your cash really will make a difference to people’s lives.

6 Under 16s guidelines – if you are under 16 make sure your parent/guardian knows what you are doing.

7 Dance safe - ensure the space is clear, free of obstacles and not slippery. Wear sensible shoes, drink lots of water, take regular breaks and have plenty of snacks to keep your energy levels up.

Follow Dermot's Day of Dance on the BBC Red Button Follow Dermot’s progress live on BBC Radio 2 and the Red Button as he completes 24 hours of dance starting on Thursday 12th March at 7:20pm.

Freestyle with your own danceathonSet up your own dance fundraising party or event at a time and place that suits you. You choose your line-up, music tracks and dance moves.

Easy steps to raise life-changing cash through dance

1 EITHER set up a Red Nose Day Giving Page at my.rednoseday.com/registration – it’s the easiest way to collect sponsorship money; you just send out the link to your personal Giving Page.

OR use the sponsorship form in this kit to collect cash in person.

2 Fundraising target – All the money you raise, whether it's a little or a lot, will be greatly appreciated by the projects that Comic Relief funds in the UK and across Africa

3 Ask your most generous sponsor first – it’s a tried and tested technique - everyone will follow their lead.

4 Send out ‘please sponsor me’ messages on your Facebook or Twitter account, or by text or email – you’re doing an amazing thing and everyone should know about it. You can also send out the link to your Giving Page. #RND15

5 Wear some fancy dress for the day – so you can Tweet or Facebook from your accounts or text photos of yourself in action, a great way to raise more money on the day by showing people what you're doing – #RND15
