#1. Get your Sam Houston Identification Number

A) Follow the proceeding pages for detailed instructions on how to
complete the application
B) This must be done by March 1st for the next Fall—Spring Term
C) $200.00 Deposit must be placed to complete the application
D) Deposit needs to be a credit card; no cash, money order, or Visa
gift card will be accepted
E) The Meningitis Requirements are for all students living in residence halls
under 22 years of age
#3. Once your application is completed, the Residence Life Office Staff will assign
you a room
#4. ELI is responsible for notifying Residence Life of new or incoming students

Housing Application Apply Online
There are two different ways to get to the housing application.
The first is to go through the student’s MySam Account and the
second is to go through the Residence Life Home Page.
MySam Students Tab Apply for Housing
Be sure to read all information located
on the home page before proceeding.
Click on Application Link
Application
Select the term for which you are applying.
Click Save & Continue
Make note of the timeline of dates listed.
Click Begin Application
The Application Menu will guide you
through the application process, and
will be a reference point should you
need to complete your application at
another time.

Upload Medical Information
Fill out any specific special needs that you may have due to disability.
If this does not apply to you, simply click Save & Continue.
This step allows you the ability to upload any medical documentation
that surrounds your disability.
If this does not apply to you, simply click the Save & Continue.
You will slide the indicator box from left to right by clicking and
dragging it to the location which best describes you.
Be honest and realistic in your answers to help the roommate
matching tool search for roommate compatibility.
Example: If you would like the room to remain clean after you
straighten it up you would not prefer a roommate who indicates
they like to keep their room cluttered. If you really do not mind
either way you would place the indicator in the middle.

Once complete, click Save & Continue

Terms and Conditions
After reading, check the box agreeing to
the terms and conditions
Read the Terms and Conditions in its entirety.
Click Save & Continue.
This step will also have you pay your
housing deposit fee. A portion of this
fee may be returned as long as all the
contractual obligations have been met.
Click Save & Continue.
It is always a
good idea to
print your
contract for
your records.

Confirm Completion of Application
Confirm that the
application details
are correct.
Click Submit
If you have found an error in the application, prior to submission click on the step that requires a change of information. This will take you
back to that step to make your corrections. Once corrections have been made, click Save & Continue and click back on Step 7. Verify that
the information that you have changed is now correct, if so click Submit.

CAUTION: When selecting a roommate, both students must have completed
a housing application for the same term, provided evidence of meningitis
vaccination, request and confirm roommate status online, and finally a double
occupancy room must be available.
