The Very Rev. Dr. James F. Garneau, Ph.D., V.F., K.H.S., is a priest of the Diocese of Raleigh who earned his doctorate in Church History at The Catholic Univ. of America in 2000. A priest for over thirty years, he served as the second Episcopal Vicar for Hispanics in the Diocese of Raleigh & is now the diocesan Director of the Office of the Permanent Diaconate. Fr. Garneau served as Aca-demic Dean & interim Rector/President at The Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, & as an adjunct professor of history at the Univ. of Mount Olive.

Fr. Garneau was the Pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Mount Olive & the Dean of the New-ton Grove Deanery. SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION FOR

FIRST COMMUNION Sacramental preparation is a two-year

process, beginning in Grade 1, for children receiving First Communion.

Students must be registered at OLLS or attend Faith Formation class the year prior to receiving the sacraments. First Communion

will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

We are in need of catechists for Children’s Faith Formation (CFF) classes. The classes

are held on Sunday mornings, 10:15 – 11:15am from September 16 – May 12, 2019.
