Welcome from Mader Ranches Welcome to our 29th Annual Bull Power and Select Female Sale! The cycle of a year’s calf crop seems to come and go faster every year, and it feels as if it wasn’t long ago since the last sale! With that said, every year we are working hard towards increasing feed production, utilizing pastures better, culling out any negatives within the cowherd, bettering our genetic pool, and overall trying to have a better product to offer our repeat and new customers. We feel our role in this industry, is to produce stout made, big topped, sound structured bulls, that will cover a lot of ground, putting pounds on our customers calves, and in return, dollars in their pockets! We cull hard on feet and legs, temperament, and udder quality in the herd, and through an extensive AI and embryo program, and high quality herd bulls, we feel we can offer more diversity and consistency for our customers. We are always trying source new genetics, so we can constantly offer new bloodlines and improve the herd. Our cowherd consists of about 250 cows, with the majority of them calving in Jan and Feb, and about 70 that calve on grass in June and July. This allows us to offer yearling bulls and extra age bulls to meet the needs of our clientele. Note that it is tough to directly compare the spring bulls with the summer bulls in terms of actual performance data, as the management and conditions are quite different. The summer bulls spend numerous months on their dams through the heart of winter and do not wean off the cow as big as the spring born bulls that excel on green grass through that same period. The bulls and heifers are grown on a high roughage TMR ration, consisting of a Masterfeeds pellet, chopped hay, haylage and barley silage. Our goal is to develop these bulls and grow them out to a maturity level, where they can then go out and breed cows right away, not losing a bunch of extra fat, and maintaining longevity. All bulls will be semen tested and evaluated prior to the sale by Dr. Waylon Wise, and all bulls, heifers, and the cowherd are on a total herd health management system, all recorded and sustained on the Herdtrax software. We use the showring as a marketing tool to show the commercial cattleman what our program is all about, and it is very rewarding to sell embryos and genetics around the world to countries such as USA, Australia, and Scotland. We have now raised and sold purebred breeding stock for 44 years, and with that said, we know the importance of good relationships, communication, and what it means to stand behind the product we offer. If you have any problem with something purchased from us, we want to be the first to know about it, and will do our utmost to create a win-win for both parties. Again this year, we have set a pen of bulls aside for spares, and to ensure if any of our customers have an issue, we have you covered. Being a family based operation, the same people you discuss your bull needs with, are the same people that see and care for these animals on a daily basis. There will be 87 bulls, purebreds-percentage-extra age, and 9 heifers for your evaluation. There will be a good mixture of calving ease bulls for heifers, and performance bulls for cows. -heavy Gold has been one of those really interesting bulls to watch and analyze all summer long-he has continued to impress as he has matured, ending up to be that real deep sided, loose hided, stout made type-Last year we watched his first calving dam do the same thing with a special Riddler heifer calf, who ended up being a very successful show heifer, and the lead off $35,000 heifer calf at Friday Night Lights selling to KCh Cattle Co-The dam of this guy, Blackgold 80B, is none other than a daughter to a foundation donor cow here, Mader Blackgold 110S-his dam is also sired by Dictator, and Dictator is an “Opal 652S” son-The udder quality of Opal 652S shines through on this young cow…as there isn’t a thing you would change-Mader Blackgold 80B entered the donor program this summer, and we anxiously await many more calves hitting the ground out of her in 2018-80B’s embryos just demanded $2000 each at the Toronto Royal sale to High Tech Farms

If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to any such announcements.INSURANCE: Will be available sale day. Animals become the property of the buyer as soon as sold.
