Creative Task 2: aspiration

No doubt you’ll have been giving some thought to what you would like to do once lockdown is over. Now is your chance to set your sights high and look to the future to make a vision board! Be as creative as you can in making your vision board. Instructions are below for what you are trying to achieve. What can you find to add to your board? Photos? Magazines? Collage? Drawings? Writing? It would be lovely to see what hopes and dreams your family have for you too. We cannot wait to see what you create!

History:

Year 3- your projects are just so good! We absolutely loved seeing your paper axes and

Task 2- Use the template to create your own pizza. Cut out the slices and put the correct amount to show the answers to the questions to the calculations. How many different equivalent fractions can you show?

Spend a few minutes thinking about what makes an engaging story. Is it the characters, the plot, the description or something else entirely? Watch Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamuri up to 3 minutes 32 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqy5ENpagts Over the next few days you are going to take one event from the Stone Age Boy and reinvent it as your own story. You will be focusing on the four pages about the reindeer hunt. Your task today is to use the four pages from Stone Age Boy to note down vocabulary for your own story. Follow the prompts under ‘English session 3’ to guide you through the planning process.

most importantly seeing your faces. You’ve grown so much!!! Moving forward with our History, this will be the last of the three ages of prehistory-Iron Age. The Iron Age helped many countries to become more technologically advanced. Metal work made farming easier as the iron tools were much better than what people had before. Research: https://www.dkfindout.com/uk/history/iron-age/ There is also a booklet saved separately

with lots of information. Task: Your task this week is to make an Iron

Age round house. You can find below instructions on how to make the round house, as well as some pictures with some examples, but you can be as creative as you wish. Use the template as a guide to give you an idea on how to create them. Collect small twigs, straw, dried grass from your walks or from your garden. You could use any plasticine or play dough you have in the house to make the round house. Send them over via email to our school office. We would love to see them!

THURS Task 1 https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/ Summer Term Week 2 – Lesson 4 - Problem Solving

Complete the spelling activity focusing on word families under ‘English session 4’. Yesterday you planned your own story based on part of Stone Age Boy. Stone Age tribes relied on reindeer meat and skin for a number of purposes. Look back to the pages under ‘English session 2’ for more information. Hunting for animals in the way that Stone Age people did is not something we do in our society. If you are uncomfortable writing about the hunt then you could say that the reindeer got away from the hunters. Today, you are going to begin writing your own story. Your story should be three or four paragraphs in total and include description, action and speech. Follow the prompts under ‘English session 4’ to guide you through the writing process further.

Task 2 MyMaths - Fraction calculations

FRI Task 1 https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/ Summer Term – Week 2 – Lesson 5 Friday Challenge

Complete challenge number: 1, 2, 3, 4 – Have a go with your family or challenge yourself for questions 6, 7, 8 and 9. These last few questions are designed for older children so don’t worry if you find them tricky!

Complete the spelling activity focusing on prefixes under ‘English Session 5’. Hopefully you made a good start to your story yesterday. You job today is to continue writing your story. Your story should be three or four paragraphs in total and include description, action and speech. Follow the prompts under ‘English session 4’ to guide you through the writing process further. If you finish with time to spare today, then there are some questions underneath the writing section.

Wow! The photos of your digestive systems were absolutely fabulous, such super creativity. Thank you so much for sharing them with us. Keep them coming! We have looked at healthy eating, teeth and the digestive system. We are now going to look at human and animal skeletons and muscles. Why do you think that some animals have skeletons and muscles?

Task 2 Play fraction Bingo. You can either play it on your own and time yourself or you can play it with your family.

Research:

See the separately saved booklet and https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z9339j6 This is a funny skeleton dance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e54m6XOpRgU&feature=emb_logo Task: look at this picture of a whale.

How to make your own Iron Age Roundhouse

Instructions:

1) Using the template, cut out the roof (circle) and the wall (rectangle). Take care

to leave the glue tabs attached.

2) Cut out the doorway in the wall. You can make a hinged door or add a piece

of cloth for a door later.

3) Wrap the wall round to create a curved wall and apply glue to fix it in shape.

4) Snip the dotted line on the roof. You can then overlap to make a peak which

fits your walls. Glue it when it’s the right size. Use the glue tabs on the

circular wall to secure the roof.

5) Glue twigs or hay to the roof to make it look authentic. Group your houses

into a larger hill fort or Celtic settlement. Add plastic animals, camp fires and

people to bring the settlement to life.
