ALGEBRA II/GEOMETRY

Geometry will be testing over area and perimeter using special right triangles. We will begin our unit on

transformations, which is only 4 lessons, and will have a test next week before the end of the 6 weeks.

Algebra 2 will start our unit on conic sections. We will learn how to graph circles, parabolas, ellipses and hy-

perbolas from standard form. This is a short unit and we will test prior to the end of the 6 weeks.

Algebra -- We are continuing our unit on Exponents. This week we will work on simplifying exponents raised

to a power and simplifying negative exponents. Students should expect a quiz on Friday.

Advanced Geometry -- We will be working all week on the Area and Perimeter of polygons and circles. Stu-

dents should expect a quiz on Friday.

Biology will finish their Reebop project Monday. They will then begin investigating the forces of natural selection.

Human A&P will spend the week doing lab activities over the respiratory system.

Chemistry will investigate the writing of empirical formulas. They will review for a test over simple molar conver-

sions Tuesday and Wednesday and test over them on Thursday.

This week in English I and Advanced English I, we will be working on revision skills. We will be discussing individual and group benchmark results, as well as continuing to work on reading analysis skills.

10th on-level English: We will finish reviewing the Benchmark exam from last week, then begin our study of

the book, Fahrenheit 451.

10th advanced English: We will finish reviewing the Benchmark exam and make corrections; the remainder

of the week we will read 1984 and respond in small group discussion and writing.

12th English: Resumes are due Monday. Students will watch videos of interview etiquette and tips for suc-

cessful interviews. Students will practice in small groups before dressing for mock interviews Thursday and

Friday.
