WEEK FOUR REVIEW AND MORE FUN FOR ALL AT CAMP NABBY!
THE NABBY WEEKLY • JULY 24, 2015
DADDY DODGEBALL!!!
Ok Dads...you all loved visiting camp this past week and wanted to know when the parents could come to camp as campers. Well, here’s
your chance! Tuesday, July 28th at 7PM is our
annual Daddy Dodgeball event! You all have
the weekend to stretch, tone and get your
throwing arm in shape - it’s on!!! We have
the event in our Sr. basketball/hockey facility
as we always have a great turnout of Dads
wanting to go back to being campers once
again. Come join us for an evening of fun,
laughter and yes, a little Dodgeball! Looking
forward to seeing you there!!!

AERIAL ADVENTURES!
We are having a great summer
at Aerial Adventure. Campers
can test their skills on the rock
wall or the lower obstacle course.
They can also cruise down the
zip line to shoot a basket or
play in the tree house. This year
we have added a tree climb
where climbers can scale up to
35 feet! The Aerial Adventure
staff, Meryl, Juliana, Emma, Nick,
Shane, Ron and Erin, all enjoy
watching the campers set new
goals and reach them!
TULANE NEWS!
The first half of camp has flown by for the boys of
Tulane! Even though we’ve had some extremely hot
days, the boys have managed to stay positive and
enthusiastic about every game they play. Each day,
the boys improve at tennis and get great satisfaction
in beating their counselors, Zack and Jake, in three
point competitions in basketball! The best part of the
summer has been watching the sportsmanship the kids
have shown one another in everything that they do. We
are all looking forward to an even better second half of
camp (if that’s possible!) and are excited to continue to
learn new games and make new friends.

WACKY SNACKY WEDNESDAY
Something very
fishy was going
on in the Nabby
kitchen this
week! Wacky
Snacky
Wednesday
was swimming
with “porpoises”
in grape
bubbles. The
campers loved
this healthy and
adorable snack!
SPIRIT WEEK AWARD WINNERS
The Arts & Craft staff had a tough time picking out
the Spirit Week winners this year! But, after much
deliberation, here they are:
• Most Artistic Banner & Plaque - Smith• Most Intricate Banner Banner & Plaque - Brown• Awesome Group Involvement for Banner -
Stanford & Columbia • Best Use of Glitter - Wells• Best Song/Cheer Performance - Radcliffe
ALOHA FROM NABBY!
Tuesday was Luau Day and flowers, hula dancers and hula
hoops were everywhere on campus!
BATES NEWS!
Counselors Morgan, Michaela and Mary Kate report
on the Bates group...
The Bates girls came up with the name “Battling
Bates” since we are battling our goals this summer!
We had so much fun coming up with our “All About
the Bates” song and dance for spirit week! With this
hot summer, one of our favorite games is duck duck
splash and swimming in the pool.
The Bates girls’ favorite activities are gaga,
dodgeball, nature, and of course playing on the
imagination playground. This summer is exciting
because we get to choose different interest periods
each week!
They have loved getting the chance to learn archery
this year and next week, we’re looking forward to the
Junior Camp Olympics! We had fun learning how to
dribble and pass during basketball this summer. We
also love going to Aerial adventure to climb the rock
wall and ride the zip line.

PREDATOR AND PREY!
This Wednesday’s EPIC event was the very popular
Predator and Prey! The Red and White frog, snake
and insect teams battled to a very close and exciting
finish with the White snakes besting the White frogs
by a narrow 70 to 60 victory. Halfway through the
summer color war, the Red team now leads the
White team 2300 to 2200!
Steph Frolo gets ready for her second year as the “Hawk”.
Second place White frog team, led by Zack from Tulane.
First place White snake team, led by Marisa from Radcliffe.
CUBS NEWS!
One of the Cubs favorite activities is instructional swim,
where they are learning to float, kick and put their
faces in the water to blow bubbles. They also love free
swim, especially when the swim instructors join in and
play with them! The Cubs really love “Going on a Bear
Hunt” in music and they always want to sing the song
twice. They are all very outgoing in Nature and have all
touched or held the variety of animals at Nabby. The
Cubs always look forward to Art & Crafts and can’t
wait to bring their projects home to show their family
members.
The Cubs had a great time having Halloween in the
summer last week and wondered “why are we trick
or treating in the light?”. They were the envy of the
entire camp - they looked so cute in their costumes!
During Spirit Week the Cubs enjoyed being on stage
and singing their song “We are Cubs at Camp Nabby,
Camp Nabby,
Camp Nabby, We
are Cubs at Camp
Nabby and we have
lots of fun!” They
are now practicing
their song for the
musical. Counselors
Jocelyn, Tina, Emily
and Richie are
looking forward to
the second half of
the summer with the
adorable Cubs!

WELLS NEWS!
The Whippin Wells have been having a great summer
so far! With head counselor Eliza and assistants Sarah
and Christina, there’s always loud singing and lots of
dancing. We loved performing and getting the “glitter
award” during spirit week and you can still catch us
doing our cheer from day to day. The girls have been
having a great time learning how to bump, set, and
spike for volleyball; while also getting so good at soccer
that they are starting to train for the next U.S. Women’s
soccer team tryouts! Each girl has made her very own
Wishing Well
where they
write down and
collect their
favorite part
of everyday!
We are looking
forward to
many more
weeks of spud,
freeze dance,
and eventually
our amazing
performance
as the cutest
Britney Spears
protégés in the
camp show!
Eliza Ginsberg of Wells as a Nabby camper in 2001 and
a Nabby Head Counselor now! Oh, and the snake is the
same snake in both photos!
